I’m not a political journalist, so was gladly surprised at the community I found here last night. To Americans anxious about the upcoming elections, a key thing we learned in Brazil that might help you: DO NOT engage with the far-right online. Don’t share rage bait. Amplify your people. Ignore them.

She was fearless, selfless, brilliant and kind. So grateful for the few times I got to speak with her. Icon for the ages.

At a time when women were largely limited to domestic roles, Steinem challenged gender stereotypes and championed feminist ideals like equality, sisterhood and reproductive freedom. n.pr/3T6gEma

She certainly had missteps in understanding the challenges facing black women and trans women. It’s important for us to acknowledge the human failings of our heroes; to emulate the best of them and strive to fix the worst.

When @hcrichardson.bsky.social very generously reached out and asked if I wanted to participate in this project, I told her “yes, of course” and only had one subject in mind: The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Her team was wonderful in helping put this together.

This is the letter kids got at the end of Dolly’s Imagination Library. I defy you to read this and not cry.

An aircraft carrier meant to be named after a Black sailor credited with rescuing shipmates during the attack on Pearl Harbor is inexplicably being renamed—potentially after Donald Trump. www.thedailybeast.com/trump-plots-...

Sounds like a major retention issue… Hmmm…Why would soldiers be leaving the military in droves? 🤔🤨

I was a cop. This organization has progressed from a bunch of poorly trained, poorly vetted and poorly supervised mall cops to a dangerous gang whose violent actions are not only allowed, but encouraged. Every video shows dangerous, illegal tactics and should horrify every person of conscience.

For 10 years now, women have met and exceeded what Hegseth calls “the highest male standards” and what infantry soldiers call “the standards.” Hegseth continues to look for any excuse to remove women from a role he failed at - even if he has to rig the study. thewarhorse.org/women-in-com...

Listen, I know deep in the weeds details of legislation are boring, but this stuff really matters. VES makes fantastic points here about *even more* reasons to oppose the big ugly omnibus - please *tell your representatives* to stand up for veteran benefits:
