From master of science to the sound of science. Mike D tonight in Glasgow. Genuinely thought I’d never get to hear some of these songs live again and the Beasties are such a touchstone for me, it was magic. Oh, and one of the encores was a cover of delta 5, mind your own business. Genius ❤️

Good morning Bluesky ☀️ From time to time I like to repost this seminal exchange between Professor Stanley Unwin and Peter Hawkins, the voice of Bill and Ben.

A few seconds of my Liverpool gig last night at 81 Renshaw. Sold out show. Fully unplugged. Liverpool is as magical as I imagined.

Here’s some BTS footage from the recording session too and my outdoor Ableton setup, which as you can see is as straight forward as it gets…

Here's a page from a bad comic I made about a vampire high on fungal cloud spores breaking into a nightclub inside a giant egg.

Playing through the Sunn O))) rig with acoustic guitar. 😮🤯 Huge thanks to the band and their incredible crew for being so generous and welcoming! Make sure to catch one of these shows if you can, a transcendent experience like no other. 🙏♥️ 📸: Stephen O’Malley

I'm fully speculating here, I can't find any conclusive proof of this, but Dare may very well be the point when 2 different parties influenced by the same recording came together to create the apex of synth-pop. I say recording because the track in question wasn't released as a record until later

Fugazi performing "Brendan 1" Live on the 7th of August, 1993 at the outdoor Sylvan Theater on the Mall in Washington DC for the 'Concert For Justice' on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of MLK's historic March On Washington. Fugazi's music is the product of pure, unfiltered rage and tension.

Arguably the greatest single by a dance troupe discovered by the producers of the Kenny Everett show while on the razz at Munkberry's in Soho where they caught them dancing to a soul set by the father of future RnB star Kelly Le Roc

Students made their first minicomics in my intro making course - mostly standard format but this student, a first time maker(!), did something so off the charts I’m still reeling from it! & he made like 12 of them for his classmates! A paper engineering feat of flipbookery as well as killer drawing!

A mere month until the Switched On electronic weekender in Whitby... now a lovely fixture in my calendar every year. Great line-up, nice vibes. And I'm all about the vibes. I'm hosting again, but don't let that put you off.

Another clip from the ‘Reportage’ show on BBC in 1989! This room was upstairs at Livingston Studios in Wood Green, London. Coldcut’s first studio, and where Ninja Tune eventually started the following year. They recorded hits such as “The Only Way Is Up” and ‘Doctorin’ The House’.
