"arabs have contributed nothing to the arts and sciences" is such a funny fucking thing for a bog ape wearing a little suit to say

The Bulwark@thebulwark.com

RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."

This is the same as a Democrat cutting an ad saying Somalis are low-IQ parasites and should all be stripped of citizenship.

Erin Reed@erininthemorning.com

Josh Turek of Iowa, Democrat, comes out with one of the worst anti-trans ads yet. Not only is it an anti-sports ad, it proposes a ban on federal funding for gender affirming care. That would hit all medicaid and medicare patients, and any ACA federally-subsidized plans as well. Horrific.

Even if you were a transphobe the good political move would be to avoid talking about it at all. Why would they vote for you when your opponent is even more vile about it and their party is the Evil People Who Hate the Other Party?

The GOP doesn't want to just cut funding they to want make it impossible for people to live in a way that allows them to live. They want these people to be forced to suffer lives of despair. Why would anyone who thinks this issue is "salient" (wouldn't care but driven insane by online) vote for you?

It's understandable not knowing Ethan Klein the drama goblin but it is strange not knowing h3h3 since it was an extremely popular YouTube channel before all the bullshit. If you're someone as online as Ken you should've heard of him/it.

Thinking about how some guy at the NY Times spent almost all of his podcast interview with Naomi Klein and Astra Taylor *this last month* or so critiquing them calling Trump a fascist

i can see an argument that at some point mass prosecutions of these guys might actually engender a backlash effect. i think you can just start with a peace deal with iran that involves turning over hegseth to them to answer for the children he killed and then going from there. it will have an effect

Matthew Yglesias continues to say that talking about ICE and excessive force in immigration enforcement helps Republicans. He is obviously wrong about this and refuses to acknowledge the data. Way past time for everyone to update their priors on this.

Convening a focus group of 30 people who have no idea what's going on and no expertise on basically any topic and just turning them loose. "Fuck me up," I tell them. "Just give me all the dumbest stuff you've got."

Gonna be real you can't tweet smugly when you have a voice like that. You can't sound like a stereotypical nerd and try to own people online it just does not work.

Jake Grumbach@jakemgrumbach.bsky.social

A helpfully clear exchange here Hasan: "So your argument is that [Minnesota ICE protesters] should stay at home because immigration is a salient issue for Donald Trump. Opposing ICE is only going to help Trump. Wait until we win the election in 2028." Yglesias: "Yes that is what I would have said"

One of the really fascinating things about Charlie Kirk is that his own people’s response to his death was so nakedly opportunistic that it’s like oh, ok, this guy is fair game for literally anything, he’s an object, and now his soul is trapped inside Grok for eternity.

It really says something about significant precincts of elite legal academia and media that they affirmatively liked and promoted this cold-blooded sociopathic mediocrity

The Israeli Foreign Ministry is lying. No coordination was required, and we were never told that it was. We were not in a restricted security area. We did not pass any checkpoints.

i feel kind of bad. this year a bunch of us sports fans on bluesky started posting stuff like "the knicks won the nba finals" and "indiana won the national college football title." it was funny for a while, but we've dragged it on so long that people who don't watch sports think they actually did

It's cool you can lie about a case that happened before you were born and not only will you make thousands of dollars but the comments will be full of peasant-brain dopes chattering about how the Satanic panic wasn't a panic and was actually happening.

At long last, we have created a way for you to take away Nikki's free will, from the classic horror movie "don't take away Nikki's free will"

Nikki from OBSESSION joins FORTNITE tomorrow. You wished for this...

That labeler policy being "facts I don't like to read".

Moderation Service@pef-moderation.org

That is a subjective statement. Community labelers like this apply a subjective moderation policy on behalf of their target audience. I've written at length about this if you wish to understand more. You were labeled and added to the block-list for persistently violating labeler policy.

You’ve got to be so unbelievably racist to hear El-Sayed’s excellent off the cuff response here as anything put an eloquent articulation of his belief in thee freedom of religion and the secular principles of the US Constitution. To think he fumbled at all here shows she didn’t even listen

Justin Baragona@justinbaragona.bsky.social

Hearing from my sources that this "over the top" tweet from Jan Crawford is being discussed internally at CBS. At the same time, as those same sources noted, "Jan is protected by Bari" and has been a very vocal acolyte of Weiss. "She just can't help herself," one network insider said.

I've have a version of HBO's Chernobyl about Hiroshima/Nagasaki knocking around in my head for years.

We should probably be having more of a conversation about one problem with our fascists in this country being, many of them are actually insane. Not in a hyperbolic way; they're driven themselves insane. This is not a sane response about Shane Gillis's SNL monologue.

I've never wanted to make a video essay more than watching a YouTube on "loreslop" where the creator negatively compared FromSoft's narrative design to Book of the New Sun when I've been calling Dark Souls the "Book of the New Sun of video games" for over a decade.

The Hell Curve@thehellcurve.bsky.social

Makes me think about how I bounced off Dark Souls at least four times before it clicked and now I think it's the most important video game ever made and changed how I viewed the medium. These people are all solipsistic slugs.

To "revel in the death of those who truly deserve it...is normal, good, and aligned with our natural and national order," Anduril co-founder Palmer Luckey wrote on X.

On "Triggernometry" Yarvin repeated boomer-level talking points about lab leak (unthinkingly barking out "furin cleavage sites") and said that thinking people all know Shakespeare didn't write his plays. He's far dumber than the average person so it's fitting he's the right's leading intellect.
