He's the son of a former Bobby Jindal staffer whose consultant work was instrumental in getting Hawley elected.

The poorest billionaire in California will make about $300 million this year. If we pass the CA wealth tax, he will only make $235 million. In exchange, millions of the poorest Californians will get health insurance. That's the tradeoff billionaires are not willing to make.

Why are octogenarians controlling the government 😡

Is it a big deal that the U.S. president is telling insane lies that he personally rushed to the site of 9/11 and heroically acted like a first responder himself? Sorta seems like it should be! Maybe?

The article mentions the area was once home to dozens of strawberry farms owned by Japanese immigrant families who were dispossessed of their land during their WWII internment. It fails to mention that Freeman's grandfather founded the Anti-Japanese League that advocated for internment. Weird.

I would like to see more companies admit this - being a public company no longer means running a successful, thriving business. It strictly means delivering growth to investors, every single quarter, who do not care at all about the product the company sells or the people who produce it.

Terrible opinion he should feel bad about this especially because it is about his children who he’s drug into the debate by being a hypocrite

Tom Nichols@radiofreetom.bsky.social

I think it’s a remarkably stupid thing for a political candidate to say. This is not the first time people have pointed out Vance’s hypocrisy on this issue, but to pull his children into it and say that you somehow know what’s in Vance’s mind about his own kids is over the line.

"I run the protection program. We’ll take care of you." The clear point is that Republicans have turned Congress into an body that does not engage in oversight, that operates to protect the president's family, the cabinet, his donors, friends.

Democrats have been called socialist and communist since at least FDR. But it was FDR who shaped the modern America that most people rely on and believe in. Because of Trump, Democrats can now run on updated FDR policies that are broadly popular and win handily against unpopular Republicans.
