I wanted to leave a comment on Princess Weekes' video about all the adaptations of "Carrie" (including the cursed musical), but I started overthinking it, and now I can't stop.

When Grammy-winning musician Rhiannon Giddens begins playing “Old Corn Liquor,” a traditional Black American folk tune, acclaimed Chinese pipa virtuoso Wu Man recognizes similarities to Chinese pentatonic music and spontaneously joins in. The joy on their faces says it all.

Discoverability for new SFF books seems way down these days, especially outside of bestsellers and certain subgenres. I'm noticing this as both a reader and a writer. Great stuff is in danger of sinking without a trace. Please post about new/recent books you love or are excited for!!! I'll start:

This is the most remarkable story Ray Bradbury ever shared with me. He told it to me late one night, sitting in his den of antiquities and mementos. Take five minutes to read this. It’s pure magic. #Writing #Living #Creativity #RayBradbury #BookSky

"Well I don't have a TV or a radio so it's not surprising I haven't heard the song" You live in a bubble. What you're describing is a self-curated bubble. If you haven't heard the song that's been #1 on the charts for 23 weeks, you live in a bubble and you should probably be aware of that.

Tidal knows not to put it in my Discovery Playlist, and I don’t really watch the news (the news covers songs now? With everything else going on?), so stuff like this is bound to pass me by. I'm not the target market. But it's not like I wear that ignorance like a badge of honor. Maybe I should?

This kind of take made a Rolling Stone writer so mad they wrote a whole piece about it.

Much as we love bookshops, they need more than love to keep going. A bookshop can be the centre of a whole community. Bookshops support authors; organize events. A thriving bookshop teaches the next generation that literacy matters. So don't just love your bookshop: actually buy books there.
