Just some middle-aged Gen X'er whose primary purpose in life is to be a worthwhile homestead partner and pet parent. Also still does super amateur-level videography by request. I know how to frame a shot, but have more intuition than disciplined skill.

So... Some jowly cheeked fruitloop reckons Arabs don't produce literature... Instead of giving him more breath, let's instead celebrate Arab literature. Starting with 1001 Nights... Which gave literature the embedded narrative technique & without which, Disney would have made far less money.

Modi has lost it. "The govt has responded by massively increasing the security presence in the capital. Around thirty thousand police and paramilitary personnel have been deployed, internet services have been disrupted, trains to Delhi have been cancelled, metro stations and roads have been closed."

I saw “TWIN PEAKS: FIRE WALK WITH ME” opening night at Fox Sun and Surf in Ocean City, MD. Radio ads were playing for it all week long on Ocean City’s top 40 station. End your vacation by joining David Lynch for some late summer fun. #TwinPeaksFireWalkWithMe

It's true. Adam Wingard's new A24 movie ONSLAUGHT is a stealth sequel to THE GUEST. Same universe. Same town. Wingard explains, "The idea is that the secret programs we’re seeing going on here are other aspects of the same thing David’s character came from in The Guest."

Thing about working with famous epics is that they're famous epics for a reason. Tons of people have had opinions about them for millennia. If you're going to work with one, you know your version is going to piss some people off. Even a *sedate* famous epic inflames some of its audience.

I wrote a tribute to Kaylee Hottle, the deaf actress whose performance as Jia was the heart of two of the Legendary Pictures Kaiju films, Godzilla vs Kong and Godzilla x Kong. Killed at 18 in a car wreck. A staggering loss. www.rogerebert.com/tributes/wha...
