as you play the game, you gradually unlock more continues. you can spend them at the continue store to buy "continue generators" that produce 1 new continue every minute for faster continue earning.

Milwaukee Brewers master uniform lettering, 1993. This was the last design job I did via traditional methods, just as digital technology was beginning to really take hold. Hand drawn on tracing paper w/ pencil, I then inked the final art on vellum. I'll be posting more from the rebrand along the way

Philly, come to PCX today, a free and excellent comics fest! I'll be on a panel at 1:30 talking games with some cool and savvy people.

itchio notifications: So-and-so followed you. Okay. Why aren’t they leaving 1,000 comments and paying $10,000? What the hell is going on?

But playing a great game DOES feel like the dev magically targeted you, perfectly, sight unseen. It is the power of art to make us feel seen and understood and less alone. Nailing difficulty and accessibility is part of that. I also feel most games are way too hard and all games should be easier.

the idea of games with a single difficulty level is so weird. it just doesn't make sense. how are devs supposed to magically target you, perfectly, sight unseen? people have all kinds of individual strengths and habits and weaknesses and accessibility needs? that's just not how it works.

Collections of studios owned and run by Black People. I'm sure there are some I missed, so please let me know (please double-check that they are owned by black people), and I will add them. Don't just follow them; check out their games. This list is about equity and ownership. go.bsky.app/4wfgP11

This is dumb. He should get on Bluesky. My feed is chock full of people oozing with creativity pushing games in cool new directions. So often The Games Industry feels broken and hopeless but it's only because they are blind to the future and another amazing next wave of game designers

TAHK0@tahk0.bsky.social

this was the awards show equivalent to “I want shorter games with worse graphics made by people who are paid more to work less and I'm not kidding" and it dying because there weren’t enough creative people followed by an ominous speech by one of the greats should be a canary in a coal mine situation

What is all that junk on Link's hat, he looks like he's in Yoshi's Woolly World

I kinda like the weirdo approach of essentially doing high resolution versions of the original characterful N64s designs, but where it works for the more exagerated NPCs, the main cast is hideous

In the next version of the itch app you can... make your itch games show up in Steam 😅. This has been a long outstanding request that should make it easier to play your itch games without having to change apps on Steam Deck or Big Picture mode

This is cognitive class warfare. Technofascists like Thiel are raising a new, traditionally educated ruling class while shoving addictive apps, thought-terminating AI, and gambling down everyone else’s throats. www.nytimes.com/2026/08/18/t...

RunMan Turbo is bringing people together, winning hearts and minds. We can restore balance in our communities, we can heal a fractured world, if we all just remember what is most important in life: running really fast and doing wallkicks in video games

Hugely influential game. All your favorite indie platformer game designers played Seiklus and took something away from it. Way ahead of its time in 2003

Finally ID'd the memory of one of my favorite freeware Game Maker games from back in the day, a platformer exploration game called Seiklus by cly5m! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seiklus

Kids today are so spoiled just by being able to switch video games on their TV without getting off the couch. Back in my day you had to walk 10 feet there and back - uphill both ways - and pray you didn't have a scratched disc or a cartridge that needed blowing

Just a little reminder to everyone: Algorithms are useless. It's very hard to find cool stuff without being shown it by someone else. So if you find something cool - a band, a game, a video essay or anything else - share it and tell people about it. And thanks to anyone who does! You're cool!
