This in turn highlights the degree to which Trump II's entire agenda has been a series of crusades against invented crises: ICE rounding up criminal undocumented immigrants who don't exist, DOGE rooting out fraud and waste that's not there, DHS finding voter fraud that hasn't happened, ...

And really, lied in a way that I've not seen in my lifetime. Not a case of, "Bush really, truly thought there were WMDs, even though there weren't" or a case of smudging something over. They knew this was insane, knew this guy was nuts, knew the danger and lied about it anyway.

This is how the CDC honored Officer David Rose, killed a year ago in the domestic terror attack by a shooter who believed he'd been injured by a vaccine. Truly one of the most appalling things I have ever seen.

I can’t bring myself to be too celebratory. This should have been a 9-0 slam dunk. My main takeaway is that there are currently 4 votes to undo a longstanding constitutional guarantee that 15 years ago seemed beyond any serious question.

David J. Bier@davidjbier.bsky.social

This day will be celebrated, but it never should have come to this. President Trump attempted to subvert the clear words of our Constitution and the traditions of our country for hundreds of years by instructing ICE to arrest US-born Americans. It was an attempted crime.
