Am I correct that Apple Sports app *defaults* to showing betting odds for teams I’ve favorited to for scores to appear on my lock screen?

Melania Trump on Wednesday appeared at the White House alongside a humanoid, A.I.-powered robot whose uses, according to the company that makes it, include carrying groceries and serving champagne. She told guests that she believes more children should be educated by "humanoid educators."

THREE COMPLETE GAME WINS IN A WORLD SERIES

The Hall of Fame remembers 1968 World Series MVP Mickey Lolich, who passed away Wednesday at the age of 85. A three-time All-Star in Detroit, he rallied the Tigers to the title with three complete-game victories in the Fall Classic – including the clinching Game 7.

Finally got around to a bit of research I'd been meaning to explore, and: There is no documented instance of an ICE officer being identified and assaulted while off duty because he wasn't masked. www.pbump.net/o/ices-excus...

pbump.netICE’s excuse for wearing masks has never actually manifestedThere have been incidents of harassment and threats. But there are no apparent incidents in which identified ICE officers have been assaulted off-duty.

Seeing the handwritten formula for WD-40 requires nondisclosure agreements, a special key and, typically, an executive title. on.wsj.com/49LwmJ6

One interesting element to this very thin story is that it was leaked to CBS and not Fox. It's possible that DHS thinks CBS still has a shred more credibility and so the story would get more uptake. It's also remotely possible that Fox got this tip and said, "Nah, we'll pass."

The National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), an operational research center crucial to furthering our understanding of weather and helping to save lives and property, is at risk of being dismantled. We must not let that happen. 🧵⬇️

Exactly. You can’t easily clean “weather” from “climate.” And it’s absurd to suggest otherwise.

Atmospheric sciences spans from climate scale to microscale - just like the atmosphere itself - and the Trump Administration's plans to dismantle NCAR and somehow protect "vital weather research" shows a complete lack of understanding for how science works. tinyurl.com/3rtpafnx

Notable in this story: the store’s assistant manager had studied his rights: “told WWL Louisiana he has been researching what rights businesses have during immigration enforcement operations in case agents were to show up at his store.”

VERY helpful thread here on Melissa.

So, I hate to be this guy, but as the director of Yale’s new program on attribution science (!?), uh, most of the commentary on Bluesky about Hurricane Melissa and climate change has been… not quite right
