www.youtube.com/watch?v=nc9-... This is a pretty neat technique. Well-presented, too!

hi friends I'm very excited to announce Halfspace, my experimental cross-platform IDE for solid modeling with distance fields! This has been in progress since midway through last year, and it's finally "done enough" to make it more public.

I fell into the #unity3d #HDRP codebase again. Oops. I wrote a post about how the water currents were done at the time: rivers, cascades and vortices on an FFT ocean, and no feature written for any of them. If you are curious: anisb.github.io/2026/09/26/c...

gotta try this
my #1 grizzly beard protip for (game) dev is: if you have a bug that you dont understand the cause of immediately, dont try to fix it; add & iterate visualization / inspection tools until the cause is plain to see. the accumulation of 'observability' in your system's state will pay off many times

another slightly older project i learned a TON of math from: a simple software renderer. every single pixel was calculated manually by me in python, no opengl geometry etc. didn't follow a guide, so i had to discover how to make 2D look 3D with guesswork/intuition and math resources. 280fps at 720p!

Inspired by @mmalex.bsky.social's dots experiments recently, tried to do some kind of "particle DOF" in the fluff renderer, effectively blowing out every particle's microparticles which gives a kind of uncanny effect that also melts my GPU with overdraw.

concave mirrors - interesting to see how it behaves with the source point inside/outside the focal distance (corresponds with the behavior here hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/hbase/geoopt..., where there are different eq's based on location of source wrt the mirror surface)
