“Cyclists are often perceived as recklessly flaunting road laws. A new study challenges this perception. The study found only 5% of cyclists broke road rules while riding on bike infrastructure versus 66% of motorists who broke rules while driving.” Safe bike infrastructure fuels rule-following.

The Guardian reporting Rayner backing Burnham's call for an EU free movement debate is a start, but debate alone won't rebuild Britain. Words won't fix a £240bn economic black hole—we need decisive political action now. Why delay real recovery? 🤔 #RejoinEU

And true to form, Farage and the Tories (Philp) respond by being totally dishonest about it… Freedom of movement with the EU requires EU citizenship. Immigration requires visas. Talk of ‘betrayal’ and ‘uncontrolled migration’ is the mark of a liar or a fool. www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/poli...

Don't get the resistance to stocking up advice. Those in rural and semi rural areas experience regular power cuts. It's a regular occurrence. It makes sense to be prepared. In our experience, losing electricity is child's play compared to being without water.

Ten years on, we have the worst of both worlds on immigration and asylum. Without freedom of movement, businesses face red tape while losing skilled workers. Restoring it cuts business costs, creates quality jobs for Young people, and helps us tackle the crisis together.

Burnham playing a canny game. "will not move ahead of public opinion" which he knows is actually far more open to stronger EU ties / rejoin than political opinion. Like talking about freedom of movement and downplaying Euro / Schengen. www.mirror.co.uk/news/politic...

Andy Burnham is showing leadership on the clearly subpar and potentially worsening EU relationship but he needs serious political support from those that understand the issues rather than folk diving straight into minutiae. Which isn't yet happening. bsky.app/profile/paul...

Andy Burnham tells Good Morning Britain ”We’re way away” from rejoining the EU and he is not proposing rejoining within this Parliament. But Burnham says there has been a “harder Brexit” than the Leave referendum campaign promised. “I think we can make it better”.

Growing protectionism and weakening trade rules (not just the WTO, but also trade agreements) are closing in on the UK's desire to navigate the world without making a choice between major powers. That's not pretty, but this isn't 2016 any more. And nobody is giving special deals.

Every Labour MP who stays silent out on EU membership out of fear of Farage should look at the list of 43 seats that become hyper marginal rather than lost. Several of their colleagues who would be set to gain the most from a bolder line are the ones most nervous about it.

Naomi has polling evidence, I have trade policy evidence that Made in Europe means the UK being further squeezed out of manufacturing supply chains, and that talking about Freedom of Movement is a response to that.
