Lula winning is great for the planet, great for Brazil, and great for people who aren't revanchist assholes everywhere in the world, but let's not forget that it's also going to make some of the worst people on Earth extremely sad and mad. We should enjoy that, as a little treat.

In *theory*, burning historical structures is bad, objectively, sure. But if you'd told the Allies in 1945 that Hitler's mountain retreat was going to remain intact and become a *popular restaurant* I think they would've used enough high explosive to turn the mountain into a sea-level parking lot.

My thesis is that straight men abandoned reading *en masse* when it lost perceived social value, around the time Gore Vidal got obsessed with appearing on television. But they can come back at any time, the latest racist Michelle Houllebecq novel with tits on the cover will still be in the library

Elizabeth Spiers@espiers.bsky.social

Okay, I am looking at this gendered reading piece by Ross Barkan and I have many thoughts and questions. Part of the thesis is this:

Does anyone know of a good job or gig for very skilled funny and entertaining MLYP?

much like your ghosting@mlyp.bsky.social

My dayjob is going through a restructure so I'm very likely looking for work. If you know of anything where they might need someone with 11 years of digital marketing experience then slide into my DMs or email me at allthisfor10dollars@gmail.com thank you <3 I'll put some of my work in the replies

created an infographic to explain why arguing the hypocrisy of fascist talking points only helps erode your point. don't fight bad faith with good faith. don't engage with their point. don't meet them where they are. they're killing people. eat their frame.

Replying to @baddestmamajama.bsky.social

It’s all just a lie. I get so annoyed when I hear democrats say “well parents have real concerns…” no they don’t. Real concerns are addressed by knowledge and data. Prejudice is not. If knowledge doesn’t change their position, they’re just bigots.

If you look at the 2020s MAHA and RW wellness space, and ask "how much of this movement encourages me to eat a Cow Product?", it's a bit of a shock, to some people. Collagen, Bone Broths, low/no carb diets, all the red-faced HGH users, etc.

Colin Carlson@colincarlson.bsky.social

Here’s a real 2am take: the supplement industry is obviously in need of regulation but, having mainlined a lot of MAHA content this summer to answer this question for myself, it’s not driving the MAHA content ecosystem or HHS activities nearly as much as Big Ag (posing as Little Ag) propaganda

Good thread! Next time someone makes this statement, ask them some follow up questions and make sure the person answering it isn’t using AI

Rory Blank@roryblank.bsky.social

I saw a post earlier saying I need to integrate AI into my workflow as an artist or I'll be left behind. Sure I've seen dozens of posts like this before, but I'm really seriously thinking about it now and I am at a total loss as to what it would possibly do to improve my work.

To you,”AI could wipe us all out in 10 years” is apocalyptic. To me, it means I have a decade to think about possibly writing a novel

Very Robin reposted

From Evangelical Christians to Rokos Basilisk-pilled AI engineers, it's funny how many people exist out there who are actively trying to bring about the apocalypse. I feel that if you have stated omnicidal intent, it should be automatic grounds for [redacted]

I think another lesson to take from the loss of both Dolly and Tim Curry is that neither of them took themselves seriously but they took the work dead serious that's the most important thing pour all of yourself into the craft but have fun and don't get an ego.

"It doesn't matter what you think of Cofnas or his work" ought to be read in the same voice as the Wizard of Oz saying "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain". It's asking you to set your attention to the violent threat in the room aside and start navel gazing instead.

Mallory Moore@sexabolition.blog

"it doesn't matter what you think of Cofnas or his work" here is misdirection intending to make you think this is a question of your opinion on Cofnas or his work, rather than the facts of Cofnas, his work, and his explicit intentions to use his attacks on Arday to create a white supremacist academy

As the credits rolled on The Creator, I was baffled to see everyone hyped and convinced it was great. My bored response was not appreciated at the time!

Doctors say that childhood vaccines save thousands of lives. A guy who shits himself in public and struggles to pass basic cognitive tests say they cause autism. For busy parents, it can be hard to know who to trust.

the reason a lot of people wear the butt plug with the gem on it is so if they get transported back in time they can pry the gem off and sell it to get currency in the olden times. its actually really, really smart

One the reasons that the whole ‘national conservatism’ thing is total bullshit on it’s own terms is that ‘we’re a PEOPLE not just a ECONOMIC zone’ types never ever mention the foreign country literally sucking our land dry (the saudis are the ones who buy the alfalfa). It’s all bullshit!

The thing about this is - the fact that this is even a goal for them makes it clear that SM are flat out just in the business of trying to humiliate a social minority. They just hate trans people, there's not more to their campaign than animus.

If pocket calculators regularly and randomly gave you incorrect answers to your queries like ChatGPT does, we would have left the technology behind, not insisted that 2+2=5 is HERE TO STAY, BABY.

Funny, that’s what we thought about pocket calculators in 1974

It is genuinely bizarre that we’ve become acclimatized to right wingers throwing a tantrum every time a black person (particularly a black woman) is cast in something, but are also supposed to pretend that this is not racism but related to some other substantive concern.

Very Robin reposted

This is correct in so many ways I do not have the energy to elaborate upon right now, because the satanic panic was far more sinister than you probably know

Tom Roberts@tpgroberts.bsky.social

I do think, fundamentally, the anti-trans movement is best understood as an elite version of the satanic panic.

I’ve never been able to make out a single fucking word that duck has to say and it has negatively affected my enjoyment of the show. Publish review.

Very Robin reposted

i think there’s an intensely homophobic way to do ‘lindsey graham was gay lol’ but there’s also a way to just relish that if he had to be a disgusting, opportunistic warmonger at least he almost certainly lived and died in a poisonous state of self denial and loneliness

When we are told not to speak ill of the dead, it is the continuation of the whitewashing - turning the cruel into the eccentric or the avuncular - allowing their cruelty to go unspoken of for the purpose of “manners” that they didn’t demonstrate in their lives as they happily dehumanised

Stop it with this integration and assimilation nonsense. It’s my direct lived experience that no level of integration or assimilation is enough for 20% of the population and nothing anyone does will be good enough for the British racist hardcases
