This is what Russia's Proton plant in Oryol looked like from the inside before today's strike. Russian media proudly showcased the plant and its production. The governor calls it a "civilian facility," despite Proton being part of Russia's military-industrial complex. #Russia

Today, five children killed by a Russian attack - 13-year-old Zakharii, 14-year-old Viorika, 16-year-old Dominika, 9-year-old Federika, and 18-month-old Artem - were laid to rest in Radushne, Dnipropetrovsk region. A Russian missile struck the Voronov family's home on the night of July 29-30.

9/ What Musk has demonstrated is that the Starlink kill switch is real, that he personally controls it, and that he's willing to use it for purely personal reasons, against the interests of his own company and country. This is utterly disastrous for SpaceX's credibility.

This whole Yandex incident has been a nice and tidy case study in a bunch of people posting what they feel and hope to be true (and seemingly winging it on the definition of the word "bot") vs relatively quick and sound pushback from actual experts

Kate Starbird@katestarbird.bsky.social

Y’all, I hate to rain on the dead bot parade, but the Yandex data center destruction doesn’t seem to have significantly impacted social media bots. I made temporal graphs of X posts about AfD around the time of the attack and there’s no sign of a sudden dip or residual impact on that conversation.

30000$ fundraised yesterday

Constantine@teoyaomiquu.bsky.social

An amazing update on our fundraiser to help Ukraine with non lethal engineering equipment. Over 24 hours we secured 30,000$ and now can start procuring the machines. And even better, our Japanese partners already have machines ready to be shipped Donate here: givebutter.com/liberty-engi...

A civilian was deliberately hunted down and murdered by Russian terrorists in Kherson today. At a food market in the city’s Tavriiskyi district, a Russian FPV drone operator targeted a civilian vendor standing beside his car, loaded with the vegetables he sold to make a living.

If you don't get angry when you see this, there is something wrong with all of us.

There's no sugar-coating Slaughter. It's an enormously important ruling (far more important than the other three decisions #SCOTUS handed down today). It's a huge win for Trump/the executive. And it's going to have massive ramifications for the functioning of the government long after Trump is gone.

on eve of july 4 SCOTUS coup rolls on, gutting constitutional separation of powers to establish monarchic presidency

Mark Joseph Stern@mjsdc.bsky.social

Slaughter is an earthquake: SCOTUS has overturned a 90-year-old precedent that facilitated much of modern governance by granting many agencies meaningful independence from the president. Now SCOTUS crushes that independence ... for seemingly every agency except the Federal Reserve.

BREAKING (Good) NEWS: SCOTUS rules that states may accept & count mail-in ballots if they are postmarked on or before Election Day & can be counted if they arrive after Election Day. This is a big win for voting rights. The 4 dissents are Thomas, Alito, Gorsuch & Kavanaugh. Should surprise no one.
