I think the real finding from surveys like this is that a lot of self-pitying rich people don't know what "paycheck to paycheck" means. If you are spending hundreds of thousands of dollars annually on voluntary expenditures like prep school tuition, you don't count. finance.yahoo.com/economy/arti...

The two winningest teams of the 2020s are the Dodgers (651 wins) and Brewers (595 wins). One already has 3 titles in that span; now, the other gets their shot.

I mean, I went to Pitt for grad school and it's a good school, but I don't think it's an elite university.

Vance: "Some of America's most elite universities bring in foreigners to undercut wages of American residents. There are 9 universities in particular we believe merit an investigation. Those are Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Brown, the University of Pittsburg, UC Davis, Cal Tech, Arizona State, and MIT."

Idk where Ingraham’s shopping, but it’s not where I shop. (She probably thought he said it’s a buck for a package of butter. Which makes more sense since butter isn’t sold by the stick. But it’s definitely not $4/stick.)

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

DR OZ: We went grocery shopping. Butter in America -- it's about a buck for a stick INGRAHAM: Where are you shopping? It's not a buck. It's like $4

You can't get anyone in political media to say it plainly, but GOP strategy for several decades now has been built around the fact that its core goals/policies are *wildly unpopular*. Everything depends on a) polluting the information environment, b) cementing unfair structural advantages, & c) $$$.

"If House Republicans are going to pull off an upset in November, they say it would come down to the party’s massive cash advantage and its aggressive gerrymandering push." Eg, not on policies or the will of a democratic electorate. www.cnn.com/2026/10/03/p...

The problem has never really been that conservative voters are reluctant to criticize Trump. The problem is a relentless right-wing media apparatus that tells them Democrats are worse.

It would be interesting to check back in with this guy in like a year or two to see what his thoughts are, given that he has his mom and her friend pouring poison in his ear about how pierre was a white-hating suicide bomber & bad waiter, & the other trucker is still complaining about immigrants

This is horrific. The needs to stop

Rudy Giuliani shared the Utah student’s info, as well as her father’s, and encouraged his followers to call her father’s employer and “find out if their CEO condones the murder of people you disagree with politically.”

I don’t think anything posted by an account called Socialist Planning Beyond Capitalism is true

Fun fact: Dolly Parton spent decades quietly funding band uniforms and instruments at Black high schools across the South - never once putting her name on it. No headlines, no fanfare — just help, given because it was needed. Wonderful Heart ♥️ RIP Dolly ❤️

There are going to be Democrats who say we shouldn’t rip it all out — it’s already built, we have other priorities — but removing the visible signs of Trumpism is absolutely necessary.

The vandalism and desecration of the White House isn't just vanity and it's not trivial. It's caesarism, as in literally what Julius Caesar did to the symbolic architecture of civic republicanism. Our national iconography matters and allowing the disfiguring of it to persist is a substantive harm.

In 2026, there is no longer any lab leak hypothesis you can state consistently with the available evidence. Despite this, it has been the dominant media narrative for six years. Read my new data-driven investigation: www.protagonist-science.com/p/biased-med...

protagonist-science.comBiased media coverage and the lab leak theoryGain-of-function fearmongering and blame gets the glitzy NYT visual treatment as Republicans weaponize the lab leak theory again in attacks on Dr. Anthony Fauci

Popularism and populism both derive from the same essential impulse, which is to construct a synthetic version of The People that will cure democracy of the need to adjudicate between competing claims.

I’ve said before, many times, that basically every stripe of American politics believes that everyone else is just deluded or acting against their interest for some reason, instead of having genuinely held principles to the same degree as their own ones

i'm finally going through the dissents in the birthright citizenship case, each of which grafts some extremely broad unspoken exception onto the plain language of the constitution, and every single dissent can be rebutted by asking "if that is what the drafters meant then why didn't they say it?"

There were some really cool skies tonight that I missed because I was inside 😤

Pierre Bourdieu once argued that the question of whether something is art isn't answered by the artist's intention or even the object itself. Instead, the quality of being "art" is conferred by a community — curators, dealers, auction houses, audiences, etc. 🧵

When a King and direct descendent of King George III has to remind the American government about the utmost importance of checks and balances, you know we're in deep trouble.

In case people didn’t know: This is the leading scholar behind the very first big legal challenge to Obamacare, and is now among the leading theorists supporting Donald Trump’s assault on birthright citizenship as spelled out in the 14th Amendment. There’s probably a throughline there.

It sure is

Trump’s Justice Department settled with Live Nation just one week into the trial, but 34 states balked at the terms and continued on. The jury found the company is in violation of federal and state antitrust laws.

It’s absolutely wild that some conservative org is trying to convince Albertans to secede and join the US
