So how did Lula come from behind to defeat Bolsonaro? In short, turnout. Bolsonaro's vote share barely moved. But Lula banked millions of votes from those who didn't vote in the first round & won eliminated candidates' votes. A remarkable mobilisation. Second round turnout is usually below first.

Again, worth analysing Burnham as if he is really good at politics: moving red lines from things EU can't accept (free movement) to things it might (euro). Changing terms of debate on an issue from negative (uncontrolled immigration) to positive (Brits can go abroad for work).

Mujtaba Rahman@mijrahman.bsky.social

I think @andyburnham.bsky.social wants to rejoin the EU. Not spin. It's incredibly bold to even raise free movement. Perhaps testing the water to see if public opinion on immigration has changed. The Europeans are paying attention

the most moderate, apolitical and non-controversial opinion in Elon Musk is that everything he sells is too good to be true, and will either fall apart and be expensive to fix, or will be clawed back and resold to you for more money

After the death of BBC Scotland, there’s only one possible course of action: the SNP must demand that broadcasting powers be devolved from Westminster to Holyrood. This country has been deliberately failed by London. So we need to take broadcasting into our own hands In @heraldscotland.bsky.social

This is a good illustration of how so much of AI theft isn't indirect (ie, data sucked into a model to train the chatbot) - it's actually **direct** copying, but *enabled* by GenAI. Of course it is: chatbots absolutely suck at creating good, new stuff.
