In this country, most can't afford to see a doctor or face ludicrously long waits. If you are a woman or black, you are statistically unlikely to be given the recommended treatment for your condition, if the doctor bothers to diagnose you at all. But sure, the problem is people using the internet.

And when you have a rare genetic disorder like me (Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome) the health/medical loop soon stretches out towards infinity. Not only do most clinicians have little to zero awareness of hEDS, they simply don't care enough to engage and do a wee bit of reading. SIGH 😡

Don't forget the 6 extra circles to the insurance company to get a prior authorization for coverage, only to get denied and have to go back to the doctor for an alternative treatment, that treatment has to FAIL 3 separate times before insurance companies are obligated to cover your treatment.

We have universal health care in Canada. In the mid '80s I spent 3 months in a hospital after getting hit by a drunk driver. Never saw a bill. Until a party can convince enough voters that it's their government's 𝘥𝘶𝘵𝘺 to (literally) insure their good health, you'll end up with what your meme shows.

The Soviets were never 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 communist, certainly not after Stalin took power. Communism was just a wrapper for a dictatorship, it fooled the Soviet masses and the American masses as well. America would've been better off calling the CCCP a dictatorship while promoting the advantages of democracy.

To a certain extent, Canadian healthcare is 𝘲𝘶𝘢𝘴𝘪-universal! Provinces run their own healthcare programs and get subsidized by the federal government. Provinces have to adhere to federal standards, like a recent law that added dental care for seniors and low income folks, but have some differences.

Also of note, Canada is a quasi-federation, or 𝘤𝘰𝘯federation. In a federation like America, the central government holds significant power, while in a confederation like Canada, Provinces retain more sovereignty. One downside is since Provinces control trade, there's actually tariffs between them! 🤦

The problem is, half the populace can't even be convinced that vaccines are a good thing. Also, they're so eager to be sure people they see a less than themselves don't get any benefits, they don't notice that they don't, either.

The road to universal healthcare in Canada began in 1947 with a single province (Saskatchewan) and took another almost four decades of negotiation to come to a nation wide agreement in 1984. BTW: Saskatchewan had the first universal healthcare program in North America.

No. This is incorrect. It’s more like Health Problem -> Dr (call to get a medical assessment)-> Ins Co. to make sure they cover said health issue, w said Dr -> Dr not covered for this health issue -> call ins to see if they can recommend new Dr-> … oh f*ck. You know how this goes in reality! Sucks!

This graph encapsulates the disconnect between fact and fiction which exists in Healthcare. As a physician I am particularly appalled that a lawyer with zero medical training and a penchant for idiocy is leading HHS. People will die and this is not normal

Just an FYI. On “architect” it will turn into “manufacturer” with the use of digital twin where everything is aligned in one digital model. All specialties in the design/build will be under one roof. Architect will just be an employee. 10 t-15 years for this to be in place. Lean process on steroids

Sometimes this is true, but not always. For example, if you crack your tooth, you could go to the dentist and get a root canal IF you can afford it. Otherwise, you have it removed. Why? Because having it removed is literally 90%-95% cheaper. And, what about a crown or implant? Nope. Cost too much.

Ask why this is? Is it because congress allows pharmaceutical companies to advertise their drugs, then competing markets open, and advertise their supplements; so that the we can no longer differentiate between the two. America makes money off illness

All of the other options before seeing a doctor are less expensive than seeing a doctor in this country. Wasting money on a dysfunctional healthcare system shouldn’t be a conservative value…quite the opposite. And thank you for standing up for democracy and common sense.

Health insurance for us regular people doesn't work. So we have to try literally anything else first. As a former public servant who will receive federal healthcare benefits for the rest of your life, you probably didn't know how badly the health system sucks for literally everyone but you.

The problem with pharm started when they permitted them to run ads on TV. they weren't big until then. They made beer commercials illegal, and pharmaceuticals legal. That's when the trouble began. For profit hospitals took away dr.s ability to treat. It about turning everything for profit here

Yes, and medicine was still made of individual doctors. Try to find any doctor in your area who isn't owned by venture capitalists. Try to find a veterinarian who isn't owned. Americans are commodities to be bought & sold for profit. Profit dictates patients get 10 min. We honor money over life.

What do you expect when healthcare is so expensive and companies give very little sick time? It’s pretty much left at a bunch of us trying to DIY to get back to work ASAP.

You think this might have something to do with the cost of going to the doctor for the uninsured and under insured, let alone the cost of drugs and (god forbid) tests and/or a hospital stay? You're lucky you've never had to choose between keeping your power on and healthcare.

I went to the doctor and got billed $800 more than the “estimate” they provided and not the first time which is why people don’t go to the doctor
