We should examine why the online Right was so quick to insist on the opposite. My sense is they struggle to process it when one of their own does something horrible. They tell themselves they’re good people—surely they aren’t, couldn’t be, aligned with something awful. Especially when they are.

For a minority of them (likely a small minority) that struggle may be true. However for the majority it's simple cult personality. Less think they are good people but think they are the ONLY people who decide what is good. Mixed with must set the narrative immediately grifting mindset of course.

Edit: this is similar to why anyone who stops being a scientologist is the enemy no matter the reason for leaving and how good of a person they were yesterday. Technically it's a way to deal with cognitive dissonance early on but once internalized it's not rationally based on a set of standards.

I respect that you give them this much benefit of the doubt and I mean that, but I also suggest that you read The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich by William Shirer and perhaps his Berlin Diaries as well. These MAGAs are right on profile with the Nazis of 1934. They’re just covering their asses

They’re not shocked it’s one of their own, they don’t care and secretly agree with what the killer did. They’re just going to say a MAGA couldn’t be involved because they do no wrong. Their entire thing is to protect the party. The “movement”

I know the answer to your question, Rep Woodrow. I don't think you will believe me or will want to believe me. But I do know the answer. They instantly knew it would be one of them. They didn't doubt that for a second. They go online to insist on the opposite purely to inflict anguish and harm.

I mean… I get it to a point. Don’t we do the same? I feel like the insane online maga loons are violent but the vast majority don’t go around assassinating people. So when someone who is of the same ideology does, you would be forced to reckon that with your beliefs or just deny it. Denial is easier

Not only was he a registered Trumpist, but he had ties to MAGA and the election from what I read somewhere. He’s a right wing extremist that’s found a crazy religious cult that only made him more extreme.

Not really surprising and the right wing and MAGA will spin it to blame the left, the Democratic leadership in Minnesota, anyone but the REAL reasons. When you constantly and unabashedly bash the left year after year, this is where we are!!! He isn’t the only one. Sadly, this isn’t over.

So many things are so off with this guy. He supposedly owned this dodgy security co., Praetorian Guard Security Services, but it’s not on his LinkedIn. The company’s website looks as though it was designed by a 15-year-old in 2004.

Of course he is. I saw how they keep showing the flyers for ‘No Kings,’ as if to give the illusion of ‘both sides.’ That is complete bull. Even an idiot can assume he took them all. Duh

No doubt. Millions of liberals & concerned Americans show up for peaceful No Kings protests in 2,000 locations across the US. One deranged MAGAt nut targets 2 MN Dem lawmakers, kills 2 & seriously injures 2 others, just 2 days after dress up ICE Barbie threatens to liberate America from Dems. 🤬🤬🤬

I’m an adamant opponent of capital punishment, but that asshat has me reconsider, I wouldn’t be opposed for that vile terrorist to fry… or let him sit for life and deal with once guilt catches up with him

In MAGA land that just means they liked to get drunk and scream racial slurs at local kids together before retiring to the trailer park for a nice cross burning
