Republican Rep. Ashley Hinson, running for Senate in Iowa, claims the Iran war is "thousands of miles away. It is out of sight, out of mind for so many Americans.” (Hinson has defended the war and voted against war powers resolutions.)

No honey, your CULT leader DONALD started this war for no reason at all. There was a NUCLEAR AGREEMENT BY PRESIDENT OBAMA with Iran but DONALD had the AUDACITY to RIP IT UP in his first Administration. It is NOT OUT OF SIGHT OUT OF MIND they could bomb us you idiot MAGA CULT FOLLOWER. POS🖕🏻

What? There are no military members from Iowa? She doesn’t care about them and their families’ sacrifice? Doesn’t care about the price of fertilizer or diesel for tractors and farm equipment? Doesn’t seem to be representing her constituents very well.

Correction- they were in Kuwait Two Iowa-connected Army Reserve soldiers, Major Jeffrey O'Brien and Sergeant Declan Coady, were killed in an Iranian drone strike in Kuwait on March 1, 2026, during the conflict with Iran. They were part of the Des Moines-based 103rd Sustainment Command.

excuse me Ms. Bonehead, but I paid $5.49 a gallon for gas yesterday...I am SO looking forward to Republican dinosaurs looking up at that asteroid-thing streaking across the sky on November 3rd...

"Out of sight, out of mind". If you describe a war this way, you're not winning it. Also, I'm guessing it IS on the minds of the families of the service members injured and killed (Trump called them 'small potatoes'), and everyone who is paying more at the pump.

Rep. Ashley Hinson - 'Who cares about a war thousands of miles away. There are Liberals walking the streets of America the Beautiful even as we speak! You heard that right folks, there are Liberals walking the streets right here in our precious Homeland! Now that's a problem we need to deal with.

25th Anniversary of 9/11 should remind us that today’s “Iran has a nuclear weapon” has no more basis in reality than “Iraq has WMDs”

I actually don’t think this quote is wrong like America being nestled between 2 oceans often means your average American isn’t actually seeing consequences of policy outside of reporting. It’s why the Iran war doesn’t receive more pushback in the same way genocide in Palestine doesn’t

TODAY I LEFT MESSAGES FOR JASON CROW & ROBERT GARCIA MORE PRESS CONFERENCES MORE PRESS CONFERENCES MORE PRESS CONFERENCES EVERY DAY #DEMOCRATS TAKE THE FREE FUCKING MICS OUT THERE! you don't need my $5

The existence of these people is a literal, real threat to the existence of the species. This is well beyond votes/policy/ideology. We are truly at the moment where we must decide how much we're willing to let the human race be destroyed by the most devolved approximations of humans.

WWII didn’t really happen - just a local dispute between Germany and Russia. Pearl Harbor—who cares? It’s far away; people can’t even point to it on a map. Vietnam—is that even a real country? Let’s just rename it “Asian America.” Problem solved.

Ma'am... it is impossible to avoid endless war if you've chosen to dissuade them from attaining nuclear weapons not through diplomacy, but by violating previous, laborious, agreements & whimsically policing their every move with state violence. It's simply not possible.

...unlike students coming home from school a different gender, men in women's sports, tens of millions of undocumented workers stealing your blueberry-picking and construction jobs, and each fentanyl pill killing on average 17 people each.

I feel like we should book her a flight to Iran! Since she obviously doesn’t care about the fallen soldiers, doesn't do her own grocery shopping or even fill her own gas tank. I think that would help.

Not out of sight -- look at the gas station billboards which show an effect of the illegal Iran war. Since oil prices affect most other prices, that war-induced inflation can be seen in the grocery store and almost every other place that you spend money.

If they really believe this they are as stupid as I think they are. BTW, we're about to have REALLY expensive gas and inflation is going to skyrocket because of Trump's horrible decisions with Israel & Iran. Most of the country understands who is responsible.

When you're very rich, as you can tell she is, the reality of budgeting simply does not exist. If you have to spend an additional $50 each time you go to the store, or the pump, it's literally nothing. It's like air. There's always more. So of course she thinks nobody else is impacted.

Like it or not, Globalism is here. Used to be you could lie or exaggerate into a microphone somewhere and only your intended audience heard. Now global fact check is starting to weigh in on these empty-headed types who think we can all be fooled. Iran is not out of sight out of mind for the WORLD.

The American people are not as stupid as these people think. The Iran WAR (and note how they keep calling it a war!) is right in our faces, every time we buy gas or have items shipped or want to travel. We know why these pricesare high, and Hinson is part of the ongoing problem. VOTE THEM OUT!

so long as it doesn't interfere with hinson getting her daily double-macchiato with shots of caramel, hazelnut and pistachio syrups, topped off with whipped cream, sprinkles, brownie bits and three maraschino cherries, she's good....

We're not being killed, so that makes it okay? What about the Iranians who are being killed? Why do these politicians think othering human beings is a good message to send?

I'm an Iowan and I see it every time I pass a gas station taking my kids to school. That would be twice. A local Eagle Scout was also one of the early deaths in the war. I knew his mom and brother through Scouting.

Every American (that’s not a total moron) sees this illegal war every time they put gas in their car or diesel in their tractor. They feel it with every increase in prices for food from reduction in fertilizers. Sorry lady, only the most devout cultists don’t care about this illegal & immoral war.

So, does that mean out of sight, out of mind? Hinson voted against a measure to require 🍊 seek congressional authorization to continue the 2026 Iran war. Surely, she has constituents in the military serving abroad. Does she not want to worry about them? Are they expendable?

The absence of awareness, compassion and understanding of the regular American is deafening. Before each interview any politician that backs this war should say, "My response is brought to you by...." and say who their financial backers are. Because they're just their donors mouthpieces.

Ashley, representing that diversified state of Iowa, is speaking for all Americans! Ashley, who couldn’t find Canada on a map, feels qualified to talk about Iran. 🤡 Ashley is doing a fine job perpetuating a certain stereotype.

She’s half right, Americans couldn’t point it out on a map nor give a fuck about it’s people, but the cost of their gas, oh yes they care about that. America baby!!

I can’t believe that a “patriot” would assume that the 18 killed and hundreds wounded service men and women are “out of sight” for Americans. She thinks very little of us, doesn’t she?

Out of mind my ass. Has she looked at a gas pump or been in a grocery store lately? The high gas and grocery prices are directly related to Trump’s war. Also I doubt that the families of the soldiers killed or wounded think the war is out of mind? Hinson is clueless.

This is such a weird take, that if something isn't right next door it doesn't affect us. Our country is engaged in WAR. People have died and hundreds are badly injured. Our standing in the world probably could not be any lower. Our Treasury is being drained. There is no endgame. GET A GRIP.

Every time an American goes to the Gas Station or the Grocery Store, they FEEL this war. That feeling is nothing compared to how a Service Member or their family feels this war, but they feel it. It's not invisible to them.

This is 100% Iowa though. We’re so far away from all of the world that it’s very easy to just ignore it. The pickle is Farmers know it, if they don’t yet, they will when they start locking in expenses for the next growing year. It’s always an unspoken question whether you see it in the ballot box.

Pretty Sure the number one way to ensure Iran gets a nuclear weapon is to drop tens of thousands of bombs on it and tell them the bombs would not be dropping if they had a nuclear weapon

I think about Trump and his Iran war every time I pass by a gas station and make a mental note of the current price. Which is multiple times every day.
