"Voters have a regret or two, and we've seen this in poll after poll. The regret has grown since the beginning of Trump's presidency" -- Enten unpacks polling showing that Kamala Harris would easily beat Donald Trump if they were both on the ballot again next month

At least ppl who voted for Trump admit they were wrong. So-called “progressives” who didn’t vote for Kamala Harris are so insulated, they still believe they were right. Their privilege protects them from the consequences of their arrogance while marginalized ppl pay the price.

I know it’s horrible to say this but what is the point in polls like this now? We tried telling people who were voted for trump that this was going to happen. I don’t feel sorry or sympathy for them

A dismal Jobs report & more proof that TRUMP FAILED US MAGA/GOP FAILED US 1-ECONOMY “Only 29K jobs & 4.2% unemployment Revisions to August ⬇️ July ⬇️ In total 60,000 fewer jobs than previously reported” 2-IRAN WAR DEBACLE 3-PRICES KEEP GOING ⬆️ STOP VOTING FOR MISERY #VoteBlueToSaveUS

I dunno - I am less interested in how those voted *for* Trump feel, than those who refused to vote *for* Kamala? Do they still think the cost of their principles was worth the price so many other people have paid on their behalf?

Nope. Don’t need another run of Kamala. Let’s go through the whole convention process this time and showcase a number of our best possibilities. And let’s see how each candidate resonates with real voters in real encounters, and pay attention to that more than polls

A feral, coked up squirrel could bear demento in a vote now. How is this news? Pro tip, even on coke, the squirrel is smarter. Super squirrel.....

Polling doesn’t matter. All that seems to matter is Ohio and Pennsylvania and the rest of us just have to deal with it. What a joke.

If only we had said something, over and over again, about how woefully and painfully inept Trump was and how there would be terrible consequences beyond the end of "wokeness". Darn our regretable silence

My feeling is that anyone who voted to bring ruin to millions of brown people doesn't get to say this isn't what they voted for or that they were lied to. Regardless of the message, they voted to bring ruin to millions of brown people. Full stop.

I don’t give a single fuck how much Trump voters “regret” thier vote. After living through Trump’s criminal actions, negligence in COVID response, and insurrection attempt during first term, I will NEVER forget or forgive anyone who voted for Trump in 2024.

And the regret is driven almost entirely by economic pain, such as gas prices. Not the flagrant attacks on civil rights and American democracy. Only the face-eating-leopards drive their voting behavior. (Or in some cases, the "I never though they'd deport MY family members!")

We all had the same information. How can anyone possibly vote for a convicted felon who's also indicted for other crimes in multiple jurisdictions, banned from running a charity, and ajudicated as responsible for sexual assault?

Don’t blame Biden for trying to run for re-election, blame him for being unprepared for the moment. He said Trump was a threat to democracy, then he begged voters to do the job that he wasn’t prepared to do. He started a SCOTUS study group, but was unaware the coup with 6 had already started.

I’m not generous to the 2016/2020 voters either. It’s just that Trump’s criminal activities leading up to 2024 election were so egregious and well-known to anyone with half a brain cell, that I have a special circle of hell I’d like to see those voters end up in.

My neighbor who is working class and apparently a life long republican voted for Trump in 16 and now is vociferous in his opposition. Stupid people are going to unfortunately be with us forever. The GOP, probably because their full of predators, are just sadly going to be better at getting stupid

All 77 million of them screwed our country. The single most harmful self inflicted decision an electorate could make in the history of the United States.

The problem is that Republican voters overwhelmingly chose this dementia-riddled, narcissistic psychopathic fascist for the THIRD straight time to represent them…combined with a Democratic Party that ran a weak-ass campaign when they should have been FAR more vicious.

I agree with the Republican part. IMO, there were two reasons the Democrats lost. Joe Biden never should have run for reelection. Kamala Harris should have tried explaining inflation better. People weren't spending much $ during covid. When it ended they started spending more which caused inflation.

Anyone who voted for him in 2024 and said they didn’t see any of this coming is, by my absolutely most charitable interpretation, too dumb to be trusted to vote. Their vote is a danger to democracy and if they continue to use it they are dead to me no matter how much they cry about regretting it.

It's funny bc I told so many of them that they really had no concept of what a bad economy looks like and that within one year they'd be crying for Biden's economy back. Some were crying by the one year mark and more join in as this shitshow drags on. We. Fucking. Told. You.

The Sick Fuck actually campaigned as a corrupted asshole with the full intention of remaining a corrupted asshole. And his voters are surprised that he 'rules' as a corrupted asshole? Now they have regrets about their enthusiatic vote for a corrupted asshole? No wonder we're so despised worldwide.

And those 89 million are just as responsible as those 77 million. How many Democrats do you think there were among those 89 million who didn't vote?

It's that yellow wedge I'm furious at. I encountered a few and they were absolute children about it. "I don't like every last thing about Harris / this system, so I'm not voting." Could not reason with them any more than I can with my maga mother. Selfish and short-sighted.

They're almost always lazy and just do not want to try to be informed. They just grab the easiest "both sides suck" takes because they do not want to get off the couch to vote. And if they are desperate to not vote, they will always find some reason to not do so.

If they did bother to vote, it would be based on reality tv and tabloid vibes. We already have that with the squishy middle of low-info people who *do* vote. The key is campaign messaging that wins those people over, unfortunately. Dems campaign like they're in a book club.

Exactly this. And when it was pointed out that we knew from round one that whatever Harris wasn't great on, Trump would be worse, they refused to engage and just threw out accusations of bullying to deflect from the fact that inaction wasn't noble.

Outside 🇺🇸, under federal law its compulsory for 'all citizens' over 18, to register to vote or there heavily fined. It stops all the society marginalising, corrupt corporate political lobbying & the divided they fall dysphoria, etc. Because every single citizen in the nation votes fairly. 😏✌️☮️

Now that the spine of the country has been snapped, they want to give it to a black woman and if they could and she didn’t fix everything for them in a week they’d want her out. It’s not just the politicians it’s the voters too.

They didn't like her laugh and choose their own destruction instead. The majority of the population are not serious people.

The only logical conclusion is that when both parties rule in a way that's unpopular, people will vote for the party that isn't in power. So what you need is someone who ISN'T a centrist democrat, so that they can rule in a popular way and not lose the next time.

Unfortunately that won't happen because people will see this type of post and go "see people understand that they need to vote for centrists now" and field another centrist, which is stupid. But while they propagate this stupid reasoning, they'll question the intelligence of other voters.

Whenever I need a reminder of why I haven't planned anything for the future because I'm convinced that there won't be a future because Americans won't get their shit together and will destroy the world, I look at answers to posts like this. No shot that they pull this off.

#Harris beat #FatFuck in 2024 by a landslide. If #Dems weren't such cowards they would have forced a recounting. I'm preparing myself for groundhog-day 2026.

Worth a distinction: current rematch polls have Harris up 6–8 nationally, but that isn’t mass Trump-voter defection. UMass found 84% of 2024 Trump voters would still back him; just 2% would switch to Harris. Former nonvoters leaned Harris 27–20.

This is a terrible point. Stop. Running. Centrists. Against. Fascists. If you elect another milquetoast Democrat in the wake of Trump, they’ll accomplish nothing but sustaining voter regret and another swing to the far right. Imagine if the fascist they elect next isn’t the dumbest person alive.

Like, seriously. Think about that. Our ONLY saving grace in this authoritarian overtaking is that Donald Trump is an absolute moron. Legitimately stupid AF. That’s all that’s saved us from something much darker.

I tell my Tr_mp voting acquaintances that I'm praying for them. They know not what they do. [The phrase "they know not what they do" means that people who commit terrible wrongs often lack a true, full understanding of the moral and spiritual weight of their actions.]

All they are doing is trying to make you feel voting is hopeless when they implied they successfully cheated. It's psychological voter suppression. If you read this you will have a better understanding of why they could not have stolen the election. www.brennancenter.org/our-work/ana...

brennancenter.orgSome Good News for Donald Trump: We Already Use Paper BallotsAround 98 percent of all votes will be cast on paper in the 2024 general election.

I firmly maintain that she beat him in 2024. Just took messing around with a couple of Red States to make it happen for Trump. Y'all saw what they did in 2020. Loud and Proud. This time they were quiet about it. Had friends like Elon Musk to twist the results. He's not electable otherwise.

I don't believe it, sadly. If you voted for Trump in 2024, you KNEW what you were getting. You can pretend you didn't, but it's a lie. In the privacy o the voting booth, you would make the same choice again, I fear, UNLESS the leopard is now eating your face.

Everyone was warned how bad a 2nd Trump term would be. Everyone. Warning bells and sirens were screaming at full volume. And yet Americans are fucking dumb people who cant read past the 6th grade level. It will take DECADES to undo the damages caused in two terms.

"There's the twenty second amendment so we're good" Oh you naive summer child. Everyone who has adopted the there's a rule that says he can't do that line of thinking is in for one hell of a rude awakening come late 28 early 29. Yeah, he's just building a military bunker under the WH for the LOLZ

They told me, "If you vote for Kamala, we'll end up going to war against Iran." So I voted for Kamala, and sure enough, we're at war with Iran.

What did they think would happen after tRump 1.0 was a failure? Did they really think he would do better the 2nd time around. Did they think that Project 2025 was made up by Dems. I love the fact they are hurting but it sucks we all have to suffer bc they were fools

My feminist Aunt, who worked on wall street in the 80's under constant misogyny voted for this pos because her current husband is Israeli... Fuck them all...

Oh please. Two months after he's out of office, they'll be willing to vote him right back in again, even if he's a corpse. Bunch of racist goldfish. He's just 1 slur away from excellent polling results once out of office and they can blame egg prices on someone else again.

That’s not saying much. My dog could beat Trump if she were to run for president. But frankly she’s smarter than that. 😊🐶

“American voter regret” is like a fart in the wind. They’ll forget and do what they’re told when the media tells them to re-elect the pedo party.

I don't want to hear it unless it is accompanied with an apology and a promise to vote against republicans for the rest of their lives.
