Exports to the US represent less than 4% of China’s GDP, and their GDP is growing at over 5% per year. US exports could end tomorrow, and they’d barely notice it.

Also, China controls the pricing for the public since the government technically owns all businesses. China has the ability to absorb all of the tariff costs that the United States adds so that the end consumer never feels the burden

Today von Der Leyden and Li Qiang chinese Prime Minister had spoke. It's an important sign, and talks will continue toward a trade agreement that could be announced at the US-China summit in July, commemorating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations.

So a China bristle paintbrush that yesterday cost $9.00 retail was imported at a cost of $2.00 plus $0.25 shipping and $0.40 tariff will now cost $1.65 more paid by the importer. Including margins we will pay about $11.00 retail. Not really noticeable on the small things but about 20% inflation.
