“It is proper, constitutional, and legal for a federal grand jury to indict a sitting president for serious criminal acts that are... contrary to, the president’s official duties. In this country, no one... is above the law.” --Kenneth Starr (May 13, 1998) === But now we have this pesky SCOTUS…

Ken Starr meant Dem presidents who couldn‘t find charges to indict after a 4 year whitewater investigation, so Starr needed the House to impeach him for lying under oath in the civil lawsuit with Paula Jones that asked if he had an affair with 22 year old Monica Lewinsky .

I’ve said it before, & I’ll say it again: We’ve had 1 sitting POTUS arrested (Grant) - for speeding on horse & buggy, of all things. If a sitting POTUS can be arrested, one can D@MN sure be indicted for - pedophilia - election interference - violating the emoluments clause - tax evasion

Doesn't need to be DOJ. Can be a number of sources, the case can be tried by private attorneys (per Marc Elias) admitted to the federal bar. This has real possibilities, and the "immunity" issue doesn't actually come into it.

If the emoluments clause, the 25th amendment and probably another dozen laws can’t be enforced I doubt an obscure memo makes the least bit of difference. It’s obvious our elected officials care little about protecting the citizenry. We’re being played like an organ on Sunday morning!

Everything Trump does and says just emphasizes the Air Force's "Dereliction of Duty". Can't they figure out what to do about a "Domestic Enemy"? I have been fantasizing about an A-10 Warthog flying over a golf ⛳ course for months. Deliberately miss on the first pass. bsky.app/profile/umbr...

It might be illegal for me to say it. It might mean some high ranking officer sacrificing his career and possibly his life. I was in the draft lottery for the Vietnam Special Military Operation so I don't necessarily think highly of the military, but Domestic Enemy is simple.

This raises a novel issue of law: Does a decision of the Supreme Court of Trump about presidential immunity "trump" a secret legal memo by a political hack if: (a) the hack is republican; or (b) if the hack is a democrat. Explain your answer in a 10-word shadow docket ruling.

It would really be karma if Donald Trump is taken down by a memo written to take down Bill Clinton courtesy of Kenneth Starr, who was also one of Jeffrey Epstein's first lawyers when his troubles began

Despite what trump is trying to sell us, and that history has let to DOJ basically ignoring, an 1998 reading suggests that when a man in the White House committs grieveous crimes, he is NOT above the law. We may have to fight this out again..in court.

They may be scraps or they may be we don't see the patterns and changes. It's not easy to assess, but I do know they did not give Trump unlimited immunity. I read the ruling, and they gave themselves the power to determine what is and isn't "official business". Maybe worse, actually. Maybe better. ?

Trump is not worried; he has never been held accountable for any of the corrupt crimes he and his administration have committed, including January 6th, starting a riot, selling top-secret documents Maralogo to Russia and Saudi Arabia. Thank you Biden adminstration for not doing your job

Fine print: ‘this application of US Law only applies when a democrat is in office. All other times this is null and void, specifically prohibited by Justice Department policy as determined by republican AGs.’

Yes, and reference to it brought up the prior agreement from Jaworski. That's impressive affirmation. Starr had many problems. Jaworski, a much more principled man, laid the foundation. So we don't have to dismiss Starr for disliking him overall.

Bill Clinton was sleazy as guv, sleazy as Potus, & remains sleazy afterwards. no surprise w his relationship w Epstein. BUT there is absolutely no equivalency btw the sleaziness of BC and T-rump. sleazy doesn't even begin to describe T; no single word can. By now it would require at least 5-10
