I commented this on the video too, but it might be the best video I’ve ever seen on Youtube. It explains computer engineering in such a fun and understandable way. I wish I got to see it when I was first starting college, might have got me into hardware stuff a bit earlier.

YouTube is starting to flood with AI videos, because it's so easy to generate a script and a voice. It's gotten to the point where I'm instantly suspicious of any video that's just a voice speaking over footage. Which... is a bit scary for someone who makes videos with just my voice over footage!

So I wanted to get on camera more often to reassure new viewers that I am indeed a real person! With a face, and everything! But it actually turned out to be a really fun way to inject more of myself and my personality into the videos. Less stuffy and academic, a bit more fun.

Is it bad that I was actually impressed by the technical expertise on display? Stuff like that and the mock-up UI for Zelda, is really setting the show apart from most others, nowadays.

The one silver lining of AI has been the pushback to appreciate that which is more human and personable. This was a great response to that!

The recent surge in AI math videos has made me realize how important the human touch is. The autogenerated script has no flow, has clunky timing, and does not complement the visual in any way. You can basically feel the markdown file it is narrating it’s so painful to watch.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is the next big turn in the AI story. I think viewers are going to crave that human connection even more, and that type of content is going to do quite well.

It’s a great video! I really enjoyed it showed the lengths gone to work around hard technical limitations. I love the design focused videos of course, but this was a lovely change of pace.

okay you mean noticing the patterns of AI videos in general and intentionally making your videos more human in response, not that an AI directly told you those ideas, phew overall it works very well, i love the new tone it creates

Just started watching this, and I’m loving this new presentation style. So frustrated that this is being brought due to how GenAI is ruining everything but silver linings huh

Followed/fanned from the beginning but this is an excellent video- really interesting. Great to learn the know-how behind one of my fave PS2 games (…and it finally explains the car frequency/rarity problem! 😅)
