I am so watching this

Fonz jumping the shark level of ridiculous.

Oh well, it was fun while it lasted

OK, we did the Balrog wrong in every single adaptation to date, why stop there? Glad to see I was right to stay far, far away from this...

Voiced by Simon Pegg?

The Tolkien estate was right to ban them from using the Silmarillion.

He went by the name Ebeneezer

I'm gonna need a real journalist to just ask these guys why they hate Tolkien fans so much. What did we do to deserve this?

Was the selection criteria to literally be in the room at the time?

I'm so tired.

"But Mr. Balrog, tell me how you feeeel..."

This show continues to suck in every way possible

Just when I thought this show couldn’t possibly get any more ridiculous.

Uh oh... he's gonna be quipy

The rights to D&D would have been far cheaper and far more appropriate for the story they want to tell.

It doesn't talk. What in the fuck are you doing?

"I could murder a Cornetto"

Now that is fried gold. But not in a good way.

He’s going to sound like Chewbacca but more fiery.

What a terrible fuckin idea. No one asked for this entire movie honestly

Errrm ok that’s interesting I guess.

But why are they doing that

"YOOOOOUUU SHALL NOT PASSSS!" "[*whining*] Oh... Bloody... leave us alone, will you! We broke up with Liz today, alright. It's been a shit day."

What?

Maybe it could do a song and dance routine? "I'm a fire starter" with a tap dance.

What's the matter Durin, never taken a shortcut before?

Jar Jar Binks makes the Ewoks look like... fuckin'... Hobbits.

Middle - earth history is a nightmare from which it's trying to awake.

I don't even necessarily object to the premise of a Balrog talking, Tolkien himself waffled on whether balrogs were a species, or demi-god maiar like Gandalf. And if they are maiar? Then they could surely talk if they wanted to. But Simon Pegg? For one of the most fearsome beings in Middle Earth?

So that's at least two terrible decisions right there, three if the casting of Pegg implies the kind of character they want to give the Balrog...

Lol, well it was smart enough to use a sword and whip at least

Yeah sure why not

"What? Gondolin is gone too? Oh man, how long have I been down there? Where are the good restaurants now? I gotta admit, this hurts."

🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

I actually don’t mind the Ring of power show. It’s entertaining

Good point. Can’t argue with that.

#BalrogWasRight

Lots of people to block in these comments.

Will we learn about the Balrog's traumatic childhood?

Cornetto's going to melt with all that fire and shit

I mean, he sort of pulled off Scotty in the Star Trek reboot despite not being Scottish at all so why not the Balrog? Not even a tiny stretch there, what with his light, breezy manner and upper register vocalisations. Most logical casting decision ever.

YESSSS AMAZING

balrog: you're sending me...to the county? morgoth:the thing is balrog, you've been making us all look bad.

“Listen, Grandolf - or whatever your name is…”

Rumors are there will also be an extended Balrog song and dance number and a rap battle with Gandalf

why?

I love it.

Simon Pegg (as Balrog): “Hey Galadriel - do these wings make me look fat?”

Why waste the money when nobody's gonna watch it. 🤣🤣

Just get it over with and do Ai Robin Williams

"I've got some fucking Jaffa Cakes in my coat pocket!"
