Chris Mason. The Uriah Heep of *political commentators* and most of the BBC is still stuffed with Tories: Davie, Gibb, Kuenssberg, Robinson, Fiona Bruce + others. Farage is the arsonist, not the Fire brigade. The BBC knows that & must not take licence fee payers for fools by promoting divisive hate

So true. He & his ilk constantly get disproportionately large coverage & disproportionately little scrutiny. Who's probing through the shallow soundbites & exposing them for what they are(spoiler: bigoted selfserving populists who exploit the rightful anger of the British working class). Who?

The BBC made Farage and are determined to make him the next PM. It's not hard to see when you have studied propaganda techniques. And studied who makes decisions in the BBC.

So true, no one is challenging or even questioning Farage on his policies, and it is just scary how many people are blindly following him like a bunch of Lemmings heading for the cliff.

Great work @eddavey.libdems.org.uk. However, you missed an open goal. That "journalist" was refusing to allow you to speak in order to argue with what you were trying to say. When have they EVER done that to Farage? They are also overly promoting ANY bs that supports his rhetoric.

Look at that story of the girl in the union flag dress. It was CLEARLY staged. Her dad wrote a FB post saying he was on his way to pick up his daughter. However, he was able to go to ChatGPT to ensure he'd included enough em dashes in his impromptu piece. He was also able to quote her "speech"...

...word for word while in his made dash to pick her up. The pictures that were taken were taken by him at the time. Look at her smug smile. She's trying to look sad, but that smile said "We did it!". Then, her "speech". Does she know how to type an em dash on a keyboard? It was written by ChatGPT.

The content was not that of a 12 year old girl, it was a political piece carefully crafted to make the most of a situation that hadn't happened when she wrote it. It pretty telegraphs the plan here. Yet the BBC couldn't manage to see this. These failures that keep supporting Reform need to STOP!

And Shelagh. Let's be honest, we're talking about Nick Ferrari in the morning. He called Farage to comment on something random. I complained to Ofcom because he allowed Lowe to imply that the grooming gangs were all one race, without challenge

Not just the BBC but almost every main stream media outlet is also to blame. Farage deals in sound bites and click bait which he knows will get the attention of a sizeable proportion of the population even if what he says contains no substance. Unfortunately he is very good at it.

Well said Sir Ed. It needed saying. The BBC are showing clear bias imo. It’s appalling the amount of coverage that Reform gets in comparison to the LibDems. And it is all sensational nonsense too.

Well done Ed Davey 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏and that’s from a Labour member! You were spot on ! Although I think the same applies to all media coverage.. so hope you repeat this on Sky too !

It’s a pattern we’ve seen in the US and Australia too. Legacy media “sane-washing” the right wing parties; not holding them to account, not grilling them on policy, just providing a platform for their populist sound-bites.

Well done Ed. You could also have pointed out the disproportionately high level of coverage that #Reform get on the #BBC compared to the number of elected representatives they have. Also, little real coverage of the criminal records many Reform members have, or their ineptitude in office.

Ed Davey is 100% right here....Farage can spout his cheery, veneer-thin horseshit on the BBC and his interviewers back down on the first contact They didn't challenge in 2016 and they don't challenge now

The BBC are utterly appalling at holding certain individuals to account, they were laughably poor with Boris Johnson as well. Tim Davey had them completely in hock to that charlatan, and they'll do the same with Farage if someone doesn't straighten them out. It's pathetic.

100% agree, including on Breakfast. He needs to go to places where he is going to be out fo his comfort zone. JObrien, Rest is Politics, etc Going on Ferrari isnt holding him to account and the BBC has to be luke warm.

What a topsy-turvy world where it's the Liberal Democrats who seem to have the most competent, genuine and likeable of all the party members! 🙃 [Disappointed Labour member].

That’s because they’re often to be found in the community fixing the church roof, acc to BadEnoch, possibly one of the only times she’s been almost right about something. She o/c thought it was a put down 🙄 Why not join them & tell Labour why?

I meant party leaders 🤦‍♂️ but yes, Liberal Democrats are often very active in their communities. Wouldn’t join them in a million years because I think liberalism on its own does not give enough solutions to society’s problems, but I’m more than happy to give credit where it’s due.

“A centrist[14] to centre-left[15] party, the Lib Dems ideologically draw upon liberalism and social democracy. Different factions have dominated the party at different times, each with its own ideological bent, some leaning towards the centre-left and others the centre.”
