I've been using this for years. Thanks for posting this. Hopefully others will join us. One thing strikes me, using the app: How homogeneous culture has become across the globe. Another: People in remote areas often listen to very bad pop music from the 1980s.

Where's the "love" button when I need it? This is amazing. Thanks so much for sharing. I just shared it with pals on FB. I'm listening to classical music from Tokyo right now! 👍

The headlines this morning read RFKJr is on the verge of achieving his heroin inspired war on vaccines, The NY Times is suing the Pentagon over 1st Amendment Rights, and a suspect was arrested for the Jan 6 Pipe bomber incident (although I'm sure it was MTG:-) Meanwhile... youtu.be/EPJa9hNGW9o?...

1. I use it to listen to local radio stations because of terrain blocking them through normal FM routes. 2. So many great shows! I add small stations that I stream to consolidate to my favorites list. 3. Local news for dad's house so I am up to date. 4. Talk radio in the language I am studying.

I read this great book called 'Mood Machine' by Liz Pelly which argued that a big part of Spotify's success has been separating the audience from a relationship with the artists. People just want endless ignorable vibes washing over them. Radio is an ideal replacement for that.

I’ve only ever seen things like pandora used in that way. Spotify and Apple Music allow music selection so users can pick what they want to listen to. Make playlists they can call back on. Etc. radio is an ideal replacement for what you describe but most of these users do not use them for that.

I was listening to the radio till my local 80s rock station changed to country. The only other 80s rock station in my area plays way too many ads. So now I am currently using SirusXM, which is expensive unless you call them to discount it. 😂 I just hate using my phone for car audio.

Just read this from Robert Reich: Spotify has laid off thousands in recent years, while reportedly paying artists $0.003 per stream. Spotify profits rose 28% in Q3. Its CEO is worth $9.8 billion. It's making money off ICE recruitment ads.

That's so cool. Someone needs to make a mod for Euro Truck simulator so that it automatically tracks where your trucks are and gives you the live radio from the country you're driving through

Dumped Spotify. My current preference is TuneIn Radio App, playing WYCE out of Grand Rapids, MI. Very broad range of good music. Non-commercial. Sundays it's tuned to WCMU all afternoon and evening. We seldom miss The Juke Joint 8-11pm. All blues.

Radio garden is a great thing. I can radio hop around the USA to cities I've lived, and find interesting music and languages all over Europe, Africa, Asia and South America. Im surprised at the english language stations in Paris...Expand your horizon...

I've had this for at least a couple of years and *consistently* forget I have it. I've been surprised by how many times I'd pick some supposedly super- random place but discover the station playing Sabrina Carpenter, et al. (Who I'm totally fine with.)

This has just changed my life for the better! Where has this been hiding??? I've been in London, Edinburgh, Londonderry just since discovering this a little while ago. I get to music-travel around the world and am thrilled! I've refused Spotify from the beginning. Thank you!
