So much this. So many of the grievances coming out these days boil down to "you should have been nicer to me." If you listen to Andreessen and Horowitz's podcast on why they supported Trump it was literally "we asked to meet with Biden & he wouldn't. But Trump's kids would invite us to dinner."

and at the same time, this is the definition of politics. The Dems bowed out from playing the game thinking quiet execution would be celebrated on their behalf. It wasn’t, the money went elsewhere, so did the media coverage, and so did the vote

There is also usually a less mentioned dynamic where the oligarch either expects to be asked about something or their opinion/suggestion to be implemented and when the government doesn't it's some sort of slap in the face. That happened a fair bit during Obama 1.

MarcA is lying. His real complaint is that A19Z has been making billions off crypto-currency scams and they think a 34 count convicted felon is likely to allow them to continue the swindling if they cut the crook in on the action.

Does extreme wealth make guys regress to junior high level, or does stopping the emotional maturation process in junior high lock in the kind of sociopathy required to become a billionaire?

Dunno about that. Andreessen doesn't strike me as motivated by anything other than power and wealth, and Trump will allow him to gain more than anyone else, or any party for that matter. Follow the money.

I remember a gossipy piece from Haberman in early 2017 with the kicker question “what’s the best part about the job” and his absurd answer was “I can invite anyone in the world to dinner, and they will come!” Insecure people who know they are not truly respected.

And that non-chalant-ness is even more infuriating. They should've known better. Were they so happy and shameless about cozying up with sentenced fraudsters who stole millions from a children's charity, offspring of the convicted felon, fellow insurrectionists? That's normalization of criminality.

They’re babies but politics is transactional. Building up relationships is just a basic part of building your coalition. Biden not inviting Musk to an EV summit is bad virtue signaling that should make people question your judgement when the main goal is to decarbonize energy! #dgg
