I'm reading Profiles in Cowardice and finished the chapter on Bezos last night. What an insecure simpering wimp. I'm so glad I boycotted Amazon 20 years ago.

Instead of living in a world where they could say “fuck you” to everyone they elevated someone who could take it all away so they could have just a little bit more

Whenever I see some immensely wealthy guy bending the knee, I remember this particular news article from 2019, and how the FBI opened Jeffrey Epstein's safe, then left all the hard drives and CDs of photos sitting on top while they went to get a warrant. I figure they must have been in there.

The funny thing to me is well before any of this was even remotely possible, the term "artificial intelligence" was coined specifically to be neutral. It was intended to not conjure anything grandiose. It wasn't supposed to be sexy. They knew from the start they could get high on their own supply.
