The federal pay system includes area cost of living adjustments and in places like DC you can see people getting higher pay just because of that. Private sector equivalent jobs usually pay much more, the trade off is supposed to be job stability

Not really. There's a lot of variance by sector and seniority. Government employees tend to make more for low-education work but less for high-education work. And they tend to have good benefits and retirement.

For a supposed genius Musk doesn’t have a clue about basic statistical analysis. Poorly described & the x-axes are a mess on tenure & age. The mean tenure is 10 years; the mean salary is $93,828 (but outliers suggest stating something like x% of employees earn $100k/yr or less). Mean age is 47.

Federal organizations also aren’t uniform in make up either. I worked in a 2100 person DoD headquarters. All of the civilians were senior (only four people between them and the Secretary). Our average tenure, length of service and salary were all high…but a function of the work they did.
