I've mentioned this before, but one thing I've been closely watching for is when crypto people begin to distance themselves from Trump. November 2024 vs. January 2026

Hoskinson: "You've collapsed crypto from a public perception, to crypto equals Trump equals bad .... Crypto equals corruption. It's a wealth transfer mechanism for Trump and his friends." www.coindesk.com/policy/2026/...

Kind of wild how people are only just now realizing "Crypto equals corruption". Has nothing that has happened in the last 4 years entered their brains or what. And always has been

Me minting some new crypto crap: Surely, no one would ruin the value of my highly scam-enabling CorruptionCoin by scamming anybody, that would cause it to lose value! It's completely safe

“Before Trump, crypto was a legitimate way for law-abiding citizens to purchase child pornography or move drug money. Trump has ruined its good name, and now it carries the taint of corruption and sleaze.”

Crypto is the perfect Trumpian vehicle. It has no intrinsic value other than as a way to separate rubes from their money or engage in fraud and corruption.

Perhaps those serious individuals in the crypto industry are finally realizing that NOTHING Trump does is intended for the benefit of the crypto industry. They’re structured to benefit Trump and his cronies and no one else. Everyone else is just a vector for Trump’s benefit or a mark for his grift.

"The very first thing he did is launch Trump Coin and it just felt like the extractiveness has now been institutionalized" Area crypto guy is *so close* to getting it. The whole damn thing is extractive, you numbnuts www.coindesk.com/policy/2026/...

Every dollar in crypto is a dollar invested to destroy America. Wait until we get to the failed bank or stock brokerage and FDIC is fooked and big depositors get nothing and pay roll checks bounce and are clawed back. Social security deposits go into black holes. The Super Short of America.

Calling outright theft/fraud an "extractive venture" really tells you all you need to know about these people

There was a period in the early days, before the first MTGox hack, where it was arguably just for gambling and speculation. Back when it was new enough nobody on the dark web trusted it yet and the money laundering hadnt been locked down. Lasted for a few weeks, maybe?

We had respectable crimes before Trump! Now everyone thinks you're a pedo with a weirdly-shaped penis if you hock crypto. smdh - that guy, probably, with his weirdly-shaped penis from before it was popular to call those out

The whole FCKNG IDEA of crypto is to enable anonymous transactions & you only have to think for 5 secs about which transactions one might want to perform anonymously to realise how utterly terrible an idea it is. Anyone championing crypto has things to hide, by definition....
