I’m not a lawyer, but I’m guessing that preventing people from getting to school and work, and hurting the economy by poisoning them doesn’t carry the same penalty as doing the same by blocking a road with a protest ?

In some countries, corporations are held liable for this kind of thing. The UK may shy away from notions like “emotional damage”, but thousands of people infected means many thousands spent by the NHS.

As an American, resolved to paying $300US per year in water filters in order to avoid drinking the shit-flavored river sludge they call tap water here, it’s at least comforting to know we’re not alone.
