Imagine if the Soviet Union faked its own collapse and what’s happening right now in America is the fruition of a 35 year plan, culminating in the hammer and sickle being raised above the kremlin as the US goes up in flames. I’m not saying it’d be a good thing, but it’d be a hell of a plot twist.

Y’all gotta read the article. See also: nukes aren’t secret. As part of New START we used to have the Russians come over and look at our nukes in person. They also aren’t cutting edge. They’re all 70 year old designs.

We're talking about hackers here, remember. And no, they're not all 70 years old. U235 and Plutonium have a "halflife" which means they decay a specific rate over time. We make new warheads all the time. It's been speculated that the old soviet nukes may not work as expected for this very reason.

I also know this already. And it’s not the plutonium or uranium decay that’s the big issue in thermonuclear weapons, it’s the tritium, which has a half life of only 12 years.

Designs are pretty basic and well known. Regardless, the point is that there is a good reason why this information is classified. A grad student back in the '80's published a thesis which disclosed how to make a basic nuke. He used public knowledge and theory, and he was still arrested.

The nukes aren't all 70. (The hacker dweebs aren't either, but that's beside the point.) The nukes may be "known" to the Russians, but the specific methods of manufacture most assuredly are NOT. Pretty scary stuff.

TRUMP should have gone to prison for stealing national security secrets in 2021, including the most tightly held of all defense information: Location of deployed nuclear submarines. We'll never know, due to the classification, but likely he sold or gave away a part or all of what he took.
