thank you jason statham for continuing to make movies for me, personally the original has a scene in which a scammer tries to bribe statham with nfts and is immediately tied to a truck and driven off a bridge and there has never been anything more laser-targeted at me in my life

I enjoyed the original with one cavet. When they blow up the building they used really bad CGI when all they needed to do was make a model and blow it up old school style. Seems silly but CGI really bugs me and bad CGI is infuriating

I'm going to choose to assume this movie is not a sequel but rather the missing second half of The Beekeper (2024). Some people say there was a second half of The Beekeeper (2024). Those people are lying, or are suckers who fell for what was clearly a poorly judged practical joke.

Do we have anything that approaches the heyday of competence porn dad movies? Like ye olde Tom Clancy thrillers? I feel like whatever’s left got absorbed by the Michael Bay aesthetic.

It does make a nice change from the usual protect daughter/avenge dead wife motives. Spread that protective instinct outside the immediate family and into the community

Maybe one of these movies will center around going after some private equity group buying up retirement homes that cut services to the bone in a real estate investment flip situation.

Ever since he screamed "Take this panzerfaust!" at me in the original Call of Duty, I've been captivated.

i scoffed at Statham movies for a while, but I've come back around in the past year or so

as i get older, i find there's something relatable about "I'm sick of this shit and I don't wanna do it, but also I take it seriously and am good at it" even when the thing in question is efficient and telegenic murdering

The whole burning the call centre to the ground bit was perfect. Wondered if the portrayal of what was very obviously Teamviewer as a tool of the bad guys was actionable.

Every Statham movie is the exact same formula: - Statham just wants to be left alone - Bad person(s) won't leave him or someone he loves alone - He asks them to stop - They do not stop - Statham must now go on a murder rampage - Also: Statham is a retired CIA/MI5/Super Agent Man And I _love_ it.

The first one was so much fun. Yeah, it's the dumbest of dumb action movies, but making the villains phone scammers and crypto bros gave it a level of catharsis that Aristotle would be proud of.

The original has Statham fending off a minigun firing assassin by throwing a jar of honey directly at her fucking skull, and then setting her on fire. Then the assassin group after him IMMEDIATELY call up the bad guy to go "Nah we can't deal with this dude bruh." Fuckin CINEMA.

The most insane part of that movie is that although it took a few minor liberties, modtly with the people doing it, the mechanics of the scam that opens Beekeper are more accurate than most news coverage of financial scams.

The thing I like about the first Beekeeper movie is that it's got 5 minutes of setup and then it's straight Statham killing people and the plot escalating to a ridiculous degree. It's a very "we know what you are here to see" movie

very important to me that we are refining our ageless bald action guy technology so that statham can be replaced when he finally gets too old, he is a load-bearing part of the film ecosystem

Statham himself did a fair job of replacing pre-aspasia Bruce Willis nearly seamlessly. Time generally flows in favor of male pattern baldness, so there figure to be quite a few irons in the fire.

The worst possible thing that could happen (for me personally) is if it turned out Statham had copied Charles Bronson’s politics, and not just his oeuvre
