You needed an inquiry? People just *remember it happening* though. This scandal. "Reopen the schools!" Eat Out to Help Out (fnaar). Various parties, lies and vacuous horseshit day in, day out. It was a welcomed acceleration of the UK culling its disabled. (See "reduce benefits" currently)

We all knew, we all said it, yet the BBC and most media claimed it was overblown and platformed nutjob conspiracists “for balance” against the expert virologists and epidemiologists…. 🙄😒

This report seems contradictory. On the one hand there is criticism of letting Covid spread like wildfire while also criticizing the inability of family members (who themselves could bring in Covid or get infected at the home care) from visiting.

Yup. Disabled my wife. Moving people from hospitals to carehomes without testing, and the care home refused PPE until there were confirmed cases in the building, by which time it was too late. Zero support from the care home when Long-Covid became evident.

But if we didn't discharge the elderly early we'd have no beds available for all the workers being sacrificed to maintain corporate profits. Please think of the corporate profits in this difficult time.

43,000 AVOIDABLE COVID deaths between Mar ‘20 & July ‘22 that Johnson & Hancock etc are responsible for - what gets done about it after this very expensive enquiry (‘Lady Hallett’) NOTHING because there is no justice, only corruption & a disgraceful waste of public funds👎

Glad that some blame is falling where it should, but the only ‘consequence’ I can imagine is a Matt Hancock doing a book & tour about how sorry he pretends to be about it all while hoovering up the cash.

Meanwhile Independent SAGE were spot on week after week after week (Christina Pagel, David King, Zubaida Haque, Trish Greenhalgh, Anthony Costello and more…) - they pointed out the need for face coverings and distancing whilst the government pushed the opposite view almost daily…. 🙄😒

We really need to stop the blame game when it comes to COVID. Everyone who did not isolate and/or wear a mask or get vaccinated or follow the directions of health officials is responsible. Let's just move forward and make sure it never happens again.

This is not about people ignoring instructions to isolate, wear a mask, or get vaccinated. The people who were in charge chose to make actively harmful decisions and issue actively harmful instructions, which killed people in the early months (pre-vaccine).

You, yourself, just said it was in the "early months" of the disease. How was anyone to know how bad it was going to be? Why can't we just accept that we all fucked up and move on? If we should be blaming anyone, we should be blaming the creators of the virus.

A huge inquiry has just published a report criticising the decisions that were made by those who were in charge. Decisions which they knew at the time (not just with hindsight) would cause harm. That's why people are angry and upset. Your response is crass and unhelpful.
