It’s almost as if the economically disadvantaged are more concerned than others about rising costs…. Weird, that never happens. Sounds like that mayor is super in touch!

Indiana has worse problems, In regards to say... The condition of the city streets in Indianapolis (in a town known for manufacturing tires) Oh and Indiana's out and proud "white power asshole" cross section of their population.

Impossible to believe the American people just sat back helplessly and allowed this to happen… Any other temporary resident of any other temporary or rental residence would be expected to return the building to the way it was or be sued for costs.

Cute but... Phoenix data centers already use around 385 million gallons a year in a state pulling 40% of its water from a shrinking Colorado River. One facility quietly drew 29 million gallons over 15 months before residents noticed — because their water pressure dropped.

Here in Wisconsin, 70% oppose construction of more data centers. The companies building these facilities here have already built 50+ because we have so much fresh water. They don't care if they destroy our environment. Like Trump, they only care about how much cash they can stuff into their pockets.

Completely tracks for everything I know about Shelbyville. A trashy little city run on racism and misogyny. When I talk about how racist and ignorant Indiana is, this is the city I lived in. Of course they think poor people are trash.

Same energy when they purposely put interstates right through "shitty" neighborhoods. In order to make an atrocity against humanity palatable, one must dehumanize the victims. He is str8 filth.

Ironically there's an interstate that runs right through town. It split my ex in-laws property when it went through. They're dead now, but yeah they'd exactly be the kind of Trump supporter who would get behind this shit.

Even if true, renters are able to vote in this country, renters pay taxes, and renters deserve equal representation in government - same for shitty house dwellers! Don't be such a twatwaffle.

Weird to try to pretend that the majority of Democrats who the party actually allows to get elected to office wouldn't say exactly the same. The ones actually speaking out are desperately in the minority.

I mean, I heard that in Seattle the wealthy were able to route kids in critical condition to different hospitals bc they didn’t like the noise the helicopters made, so, yeah, clearly no one cares if poor people are negatively affected. Fucking disgusting. When are we eating the rich?

Of course the signs are on the lawns of people without a lot of money. They aren't gonna pull up 429 acres of pristine land in front of rich peoples' houses now are they? No - they're gonna try foisting their water grabbing, bill raising, land polluting, noise factory by everyone BUT the rich people

Well, I live in Ohio and I have one in my yard. I've resided here for over 50 years and our house has been paid for over 25. No need to ruin our community to make billionaires even richer.🤬

Does anyone know why all of these data centers are necessary? What are the end goals? What, if anything, will they do for the world or a community, anywhere? Is this all a vanity project to see who has the biggest data collection service or will they be fixing our collapsing environment and economy?

Well part of the reason the billionaire class is all-in on AI is that the end goal is well understood to be: make a shitload of money primarily by replacing human labour absolutely wherever possible, even if the results are middling (the reality of course is worse than that; nevertheless)

Mayor Scott Ferguson: It takes a sh*tty man to build a sh*tty house, and call his neighbor's house a sh*tty house...when the truth of things is clear, with a data center near, they are all sh*tty houses in the end. In the heat and water loss, let us count ALL of the cost, and to Ferguson we send

“The mayor regrets that his choice of words may have caused offense.” Not "The mayor regrets his choice of words." Just "Sorry the tasteless comment I made has made people angry."

This elitist regrets being caught saying the obvious. I don’t have to look this up, because there is no doubt that Mayor Scott Furgeson isn’t trying to get a datacenter to be built in his neighborhood.

Perhaps Mayor Furgeson is ok with a data center going in next to his house. Even people who live in "shitty" homes don't want constant noise, polluted water, and higher electric bills because of giant data centers. Build them in the rich neighborhoods only.
