The letters and press releases were a crucial communications tool for SSA employees. It could also impact people receiving benefits who rely on the letters for information about access benefits. “Do they really expect senior citizens will join this platform?” asked one current employee.
I called my Rep Abe Hamade (R) & voiced my SSA concerns & asked how he would address them. The staffer didn't have a direct answer but that because anyone can call (fair) I should contact him through his site since it requires an address be entered in. Here's his link and what I said (next post)
Elon Musk, who is leading the charge to radically reduce the size of the federal workforce on behalf of President Trump, bought X (then Twitter) in October 2022. The platform has for years battled the spread of misinformation. The full scoop here:
It's been for years. @raskin.house.gov @adamsmith.house.gov @murray.senate.gov @cantwell.senate.gov have been well aware.
WTF? "The platform has for years battled the spread of misinformation." Come on, @wired.com, just stop. Where are your editors? Rolling Stone "The tech billionaire always had a problem with telling the truth — now he has an entire social network built on lies" www.rollingstone.com/culture/cult...
So senior citizens now have to rely on Twitter or NaziX to secure the HIPPA medical information… #FuckElonMusk The #Truth about Elon Musk in 5 words. This website says the quiet part about Elon without saying the quiet part out loud… for all American 🇺🇸 Patriots www.HeIsAdick.com
Hopefully, that's a typo on Wired's part "battled the spread of misinformation"? X IS the definition of that.Wired better do some quick damage control on that one before it loses any credibility it may have had! Bad enough I thought the announcement was a JOKE!Then to read that- more than I can take!
The epitome of cynicism: Elon Musk claims to be shocked by the level of Tesla hate—conveniently forgetting the litany of scandals under his watch, from racial discrimination to sexual harassment allegations in Tesla factories www.aol.com/elon-musk-sa...
@wired.com has become a pretty incredible bastion of government reporting in recent months, while many other outlets have taken a nosedive. Thank you all for meeting the moment—it’s this kind of media pressure that actually gets them to back off crazy stuff like this.
@democrats.senate.gov @housedemocrats.bsky.social every democrat should leave X now. As should anyone who is against what this regime is doing and plans to do! Resist getting your government delivered information via X!
@nbcnews.com @cnn.com @cbsnews.com @msnbc.com what’s the line before you flat out say the admin is moving to state media and beginning today we will call out this radical behavior and damage to America.
Hey, could be worse: Trump could mandate that all government communication be posted exclusively on Truth Social! But seriously, it can't possibly be legal to single out one platform for *public* communication. Who's suing on behalf of, well, Bluesky?
