Holy shit, we're actually getting there. "UCLA researchers develop low-cost blood test to detect multiple cancers and other diseases from a single sample [—] In tests, MethylScan detected about 63% of cancers across all stages and roughly 55% of early-stage cancers." (from April) #ShareGoodNewsToo

Shhh, Don't TELL the RepubliCONS, they HATE ANYTHING that SAVES lives because their AGENDA is to END as many LIVES as they can, that's WHY they DON'T want people to get vaccines, have HEALTHCARE, rolled back protections on rules to keep OUR food SAFE! EVERYTHING they DO HURTS us, NOT HELPS us!

RepubliCONS will NEVER be onboard with ANYTHING GOOD for US, that's NOT how they operate and their ACTIONS are PROOF of that! They DO AWAY with ANYTHING that PROTECTS us, because they ONLY SEE $$$$ for the BIG Corps, NOT people's LIVES!

This and the progress on early dementia and Alzheimer’s testing , was getting so close by the end of 2024. The new DJT regime halted so much research & funding in 2025= , it’s been interesting to see that progress was still being made in the USA and not farmed out to other countries.

Low cost!? But we haven't applied the value pricing model to that yet! How would YOU price a blood test to detect cancer? My guess is somewhere between $2,000,000 and priceless.

Ans someone will figure a way to make millions and insurance companies won't cover it because "it's not medically necessary." You know because big pharma makes billions off cancer and other chronic conditions.

There are a couple methylated cfDNA liquid biopsy tests currently on the market and a couple more in development with better detection. But, if this can be improved, it will be a nice addition.

As a cancer survivor whose wife is a cancer survivor who lost 2 friends recently to cancer and have a mother with cancer and a friend with cancer, I am grateful for the great minds and caring work of researchers.....please keep your findings within reach!

Cancer encompasses hundreds of diseases. Scientists have created tests/vaccines/treatments over the last 50 years that would have been unimaginable in 1960. Some cancers used to be a guaranteed death sentence - 95% survival rates today. We will all die of something, but ❤️ each little step forward

Follicular non-hodgkin's lymphoma (lymph system CANCER) here. In remission; will never be cured SIX aunts - passed from CANCER BOTH grandmas " " CANCER Sister currently fighting stage 4 metastatic breast CANCER; lumpectomy/radiation 20 yrs ago FUCK THE INDUSTRY THAT KEEPS IT'S OWN CITIZENS SICK

This is very good news. Let's hope our millions/billions in taxpayer funded research means that "low cost" means practically free for our citizens, and then citizens of the world.

No, what UCLA has done is to find another way to worry the populace and dupe the insurance companies out of cash for costly medical procedures, that may or may not be needed. The minute you walk through the doors, it's a witch hunt to find what ever else could be wrong with you.😠

This will get zero funding from the government because it can't be weaponized against political opponents and will keep people alive against the wishes of depopulation-minded billionaires.

I wish that had been available for me a decade ago. I wonder if my blood and tumor went to help them since I signed up for all the donations and genetic testing. Too bad we let Christians decide medicine for a long time and could be working on the cure for all cancer by now though.

... and/or search through your records with a fine tooth comb to find that one time that you forgot to take two tablespoons of the prescription for your ear ache, in order to label you a scoff law, and kick you off your insurance because of that

We're almost there....until Trump takes it away. The billionaires need their money fix.

www.cancerbloodtest.ca I want credit for something that already exists too. Also, America has a version of this but will not use it as a reliable source so they can bill you and do it their way even though the blood test is highly accurate. How else do they extort insurance companies ? Won’t happen

Still in the biomed domain, there’s HIV Tx and Prep of course… But imho one of THE most *under-appreciated* miracles came via the entirely NEW class of Hep-C drugs that dropped *just* as huge swaths of an entire generation (mainly boomers) were about to get hit with a vicious killer

Medical Science: researching and treating diseases using innovation, repetitive testing, and strict standards for proven results. They're not like the environmental lawyer or healthcare economist who run the CDC. Medical Science believes in proof.

Better hurry before the CDC is an acronym for “just kidding” if it’s part of the Trump Republicans death cult regime do not trust any federal government agency entity or anything affiliated with authoritarian lying corrupt kleptocratic religious zealots.

But if people don't have the money to treat isn't it just torture. With all the lies coming out about our lives in the United states can we trust a for profit industry that treats cancer with carcinogens. My gut tells me probably not.

The thing that bothers me about these tests is the high level of noise. I had a new colon cancer DNA blood test (insurance coverage in doubt, out of network, $3,850!), got a colonoscopy after a month of worrying, and only a 2 mm “benign-looking” polyp found (pathology still pending).

Supposedly this test has only a 10% false positive rate. Gastro said never to take such a test again. Other “detected” cancers would require much more expensive and invasive follow up (organ biopsy, etc).

rfk jr wants to eliminate most Cancer research in the USA because he thinks it is a waste of money ... OR is it because his wealthy crony friends in Big Pharma, can't make as much money selling palliatives if people can actually get cures because of catching the illnesses in the earliest stages?

PET scans can also detect any cancer in your body. The problem is in order to get one in this country, you already have to be diagnosed with cancer. But for the cost of the test here, you can travel to another country, get the test and have vacation with money left over. Medical tourism yall.

Cool. I bet the only insurance that’ll cover it in the U.S. is the insurance WE PROVIDE to our government workers. They seem to be the only ones to benefit from any progress that’s made.
