From a post:
βTold my wife to have dinner ready by 6 or I'll obliterate her entire civilization.
So anyway, she now charges me a fee to use the bathroom that used to be free, and I didn't get any dinner, but I'm pretty sure I won that exchange.β
βDanielle Smith's government is exempting celebrity investor Kevin O'Leary's massive Wonder Valley data centre near Grand Prairie, AB, from a provincial environmental assessmentβ
Because of course they did.

RAE: "The people of Iran have no guns, they have no arms, they have no missiles, they have no drones, they have almost no military capacity ... strategy without resources is not called hope, it's called hallucination."
The far right was in overdrive yesterday to make the mass shooting at Tumbler Ridge about trans people.
It helped obscure the fact that it's actually Canada's first mass shooting targeting children. Canada's Dunblane.

The arrest of Don Lemon is textbook fascismβa brazen attempt to silence reporting on a criminal regime. Stand up for Don, because our rights stand and fall with those of courageous journalists throughout this country.
I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. Itβs dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

"I think that calls on business leaders across this province... to think about their role in what is unfolding there, and to make decisions that would not lead to some of the outcomes that we're seeing unfold in the States"

78% say it was the right thing to reduce tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles, which will result in some increased canola sales to China + Chinese electric vehicles being sold in Canada

Alex Pretti was a colleague at the VA. We hired him to recruit for our trial. He became an ICU nurse- I lover working with him. He was a good kind person who lived to help and these fuckers executed him.
White. Hot. Rage.
All of this is fucking senseless. Minnesota did not have an immigration problem. Trump sent his Nazi thugs here because he's racist against Somali people and to own libs like Tim Walz. Now two Minnesotans are dead and Minneapolis is on the verge of going up in flames. None. Of. This. Was. Necessary.
Carney:
"In a time of rising populism and ethnic nationalism, Canada can show how diversity is a strength, not a weakness... Canada can't solve all the world's problems. But we can show that another way is possible. That the arc of history isn't destined to be warped toward authoritarianism".
Carney: "American hegemony in particular helped provide public goods, a stable financial system... this bargain no longer works. Let me be direct. We are in the midst of a rupture, not a transition... recently, great powers have begun using economic integration as a weapon. Tariffs as leverage ... "
Carney: "We stand firmly with Greenland and Denmark and fully support their unique right to determine Greenland's future. Our commitment to NATO's Article 5 is unwavering ... Canada strongly opposes tariffs over Greenland"
Her vehicle's right front panel cleared the ICE agent who didn't open fire until after he was at the side of her vehicle. He used deadly force on a fleeing individual, which is against DHS policy. This is murder. He needs to be arrested.

America: oh yeah? Our guy has to take dementia tests every week.

I was just thinking about contributing to the "charity" Feeding America. Until I discovered that the salary for its CEO, Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, was approximately $949,866 in 2024, with her total compensation being $1,113,502. Apparently, feeding America isn't her top priority.
Okay, so I did it. In honor of Sandwich Guy, on what should be the last day of his trial, I figured out the chords. And so, with apologies to the late and great Bob Marley, I banged out this quick and (very) rough rendition of "I Threw the Sandwich." π€£
Here we go π

PM Carney on decoupling from US: "This sort of relentless process of greater integration has reversed. That's a big change. When you have a big change like that and you had your economy oriented towards that, which ours was, some of your strengths become vulnerabilities and you have to do big things"

A nationwide backlash to AI data centers is brewing.
And for good reason: while AI enriches Big Tech CEOs and props up the stock market, data centers are sucking up communitiesβ water and power.
When the AI bubble bursts, the rest of us will be stuck holding the bag. Be warned.
