You really need to watch this, particularly if you're a Man In Tech

Jo Franchetti @thisisjofrank.bsky.social

I gave a talk at EMF titled "Men in Tech #YesAllMen", in which I told my experience of being a woman in tech. I was afraid to publish it in case it affected my current or future employment. With all the current news I would like to add my 2¢. So here is the recording: youtu.be/WXL6K1lhvt0?...

Let's talk a little more about Margaret Hamilton because she deserves it In 1961, Margaret Hamilton was tackling massive systems, having previously wrangled room-sized computers that blared like a foghorn whenever they crashed.

You see, the simple solution is just do everything right. Make no mistakes. Then success just happens and all the problems are solved.

a tweak: open source is ABOUT people … with quality as a means to that end we have the rare freedom to practise the craft + the joy of building with friends, for its own sake. I hope open source communities flourish – we must look after our mental health more than ever. but a cautionary note 👇

Who doesn't love a really long number written in Roman numerals? ... ANYway, for today's coding challenge, you'll build a Roman numeral parser so you can read all those Xs and Is and Vs more easily. Check it out on the freeCodeCamp mobile app.

The current US medical system is both not good for women that are primary caregivers, and obscenely expensive. You don't have to say "MAHA was right!🤡" They're not right. But you do have to offer a progressive alternative to the status quo. No one wants medical centrism. Schumer in scrubs.

Mekka Okereke@mekka.mekka-tech.com

This isn't complicated. MAHA is using legitimate grievances to launder anti-science nonsense. But saying "Shut up! Science works!🤡" ignores the reality that this system is not working for most people. It's not hard to acknowledge flaws without snuggling up to fascists, anti-vaxxers, or RFK jr.

I tried SIEVE a long time ago, handwritten in rou3. It wasn't that impressive, but now, for H3's route rules engine, it is effective!

The President has decided that in order to make ground beef cheaper, he will cut tariffs on ground beef. And I'm wondering if he could generalize from this one product to other products, and perhaps concede that tariffs raise prices on American consumers.

Literally called the *Chinese Exclusion* Act*🤡 If you don't like Asian people, I don't like you. And I said what I said: The US White nationalists only hate Black people as a side quest. They're not afraid of us. They're not talking about Black folk when they talk about a clash of civilisations.
