Tried live coding music from scratch starting from a blank Strudel REPL. A few minutes in the lead was generated by combining Euclidean Rhythms with a Cosine function which resulted in surprising melodies #livecoding #strudel #algorave #electronicmusic #music

It's our last ever Algoravioli event 🎀 🏁 (An experimental event series where there's no pre-set plan or setlist: The entire event is a big-warm-welcoming live-coding jam-session. We also end up doing a lot of ribbon and pasta-jewellery making and chatting and learning 💖) Tickets: lu.ma/z5zxgcuc

From www.nixiana.com/projects/ntp... by Peter Csaszar. "The Nixie Tube Propeller Clock (NTPClock) is a unique timekeeping device that combines the vintage charm of the Nixie tube with the modern display idea utilizing the persistence of vision (a.k.a positive after-images) phenomenon." Floppy!

I'm teaching a workshop on assembling, exploring, and designing my EMF Explorer badge at #Defcon this year, and it's already sold out! I've got a few extra EMF Explorer kits with me for presale, and they'll also be available in the vendor hall at the #iFixit booth.

The more livecoding I do and the more livecoders I meet the more convinced I am that it’s a key part of the next golden era of public tech, like maybe the most important part? It contains in it all the good parts of “learn to code” with precisely zero of the capitalist/grindset implications.

Resin printing is AWESOME but it can be DANGEROUS if done incorrectly. And one of the things you want to avoid is printing in a tiny room with no ventilation. ☠️ Then what do you do if want to resin print? Invent something to make it safe. Or borrow from me. 😉 github.com/katzcreates/...

I've written a book! Next Level: Making Games That Make Themselves is the story of procedural generation - the tech behind games like Minecraft and Dwarf Fortress. It's about how it works, the games that use it, and the art and magic behind it. Out May 7th, in bookshops: linktr.ee/next_level 🎲🔮

My 2nd attempt at using #Strudel REPL (at flok.cc) for #liveCoding an old song to sound more techno like in those viral #AlgoRave videos. It is not going so well today.

If this looks or sounds fun - it's easier than you think! You don't need to know how to code, or how to make music, or anything else. You can just come along to an event and start learning the basics and take it from there. Find our next meet here: badlondon.events

Some photos from last night's algorave at the V&A Musem Friday Late. We played seven sets to thousands of people, many of whom hung around to watch multiple sets and brought loads of energy to the huge museum foyer.

Trump does not think strategically, historically, geographically, or even rationally. He does not connect actions he takes on one day to events that occur weeks later. Allied leaders know that if they help him in the Gulf, he won't be grateful, or even remember www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...

The perspective looks all wrong. You're staring straight at this barmaid, but her reflection in the mirror is way off to right. Even worse, her reflection is facing a guy who doesn't appear in the main view! But in 2000, a researcher showed this perspective is actually possible! (1/n)

Keep being sent this completely nonsensical hogslop. It has multiple egregious lies, which is appropriate because he’s a fraud. Back in September 2024 he falsified a bunch of benchmarks to hype up his open source model. Article is total dogshit. I should annotate it venturebeat.com/ai/reflectio...

Fibonacci256 Expanding HDR is now available! I'm experimenting with different Voronoi grids behind the black LED acrylic diffuser. I think I prefer the one on the right, since it allows more light to bleed onto the surrounding wall. Which do you prefer? Get yours here: lectronz.com/products/fib...
