Great chance for people to finally check Dark Messiah! store.steampowered.com/app/5016100/...
It's a bit messy but it's Arkane setting the blueprint to a lot of what people love in Dishonored. Some battles and set pieces still feel cutting-edge, even 20 years later.

- new mechanics (sliding, relics, spells, weapons, transformations)

The thing with the billionaires is they won’t fucking leave us alone. It would be one thing if they made some product or service, fucked off, paid their bills and paid for rivers of cocaine or gold covered loincloths or whatever. But they insist society be structured around their every whim.
Can we finally put to bed that "they want to rent you a computer so you never own anything" nonsense?
They *can't* rent you a computer. It costs more for them to rent you the computer than to sell you the computer. Why would they do the thing that makes them far less money? Think!
One of the really fascinating things about Charlie Kirk is that his own people’s response to his death was so nakedly opportunistic that it’s like oh, ok, this guy is fair game for literally anything, he’s an object, and now his soul is trapped inside Grok for eternity.
theres this idea in the media that if netanyahu loses his election that israel is going to become acceptable to support again, as he is singularly the problem. but if you look into the election you find out every single opposition party is casting him as "too weak on palestine"
Which if you think about it for like a second, proves how stupid the markets are because there is literally no infrastructure, laws or public demand for this. How does this become actual money? What problems is this solving?
May as well by Monster Truck stock if you like car tricks.
Kreia: BORED *spins in the co-pilot chair* are we there yet?
Atton: no.
Kreia: euughhhggh. do you have games on your- ACK *sits bolt upright as the Exile enters the cockpit*
Exile: how much longer to Nar Shadda?
Kreia: Such impatience. Do not rush to meet destiny, or you will do so unprepared
i will accept feeling schadenfreude when media corporations go after AI companies over copyright infringement because it's nice to see bad things happen to big tech companies. but that's as far as i go with it. otherwise copyright means i'll copy stuff right to my computer from the internet for free
Appeals to copyright as a rationale for AI being forever tainted are just so pathetic. Like, I'm sorry, I thought grownups agreed that copyright is a tool for corps to bully artists around when Zara was looting designs wholesale.
Or maybe people just don't appreciate small artists

i see why steam tries very very hard to hide the curator system from everyone because it gives a direct, horrifying look at the demographics actively using steam's community features
So… I've been writing for about 18 years on the idea that if you somehow manage to make meaningfully conscious machine minds & then you treat them as tools, then you're enslaving those minds, and that's pretty messed up. And this ties into something else I've re-upped recently: LLMs can't say "No."
guys that cloudflare chart is about automated content crawling not social media bots, Yandex is an indexing site, when one of its DCs go down they do less crawling of the web. please learn to read.
everyone is making pretty bold anecdotal claims about the Yandex DC going out resulting in less right wing content, but all the actual data I’ve seen has been saying it hasn’t moved the needle at all. I would be very skeptical of these claims; they will almost certainly turn out to be totally false.
Almost every hobby or passtime I've had my entire life - comic books, action figures, trading cards, personal computers, even *the movies* - has been consumed by a bunch of gambling addicts desperate for some new speculative market and we should make gambling illegal because it's their fucking turn
I'm convinced AI is our generation's radium - a discovery with genuinely useful applications in specific, controlled circumstances that we stupidly put in everything from kid's toys to toothpaste until we realised the harm far too late where future generations will ask if we were out of our minds.
Basically AI allows software engineers to produce shitty code *faster* and in higher volumes which increases the amount time spent on code reviews and revisions nullifying the productivity gained from producing the code in the first place.
I'm very much in favor of large organized boycotts and not giving your money to people who obviously, publicly support evil things: BDS, not buying Harry Potter shit etc
That said we put more moral weight on each other's purchases than ever in a time where purchasing power is at its lowest
rotating an idea that halo is the defining media franchise of the 21st century. i look at how its been mismanaged for 20 years, no one working on it has a job, its games don't even sell anymore but. they cant let it die. the IP must continue. everything becomes halo on a long enough timeline
Ezra Klein asked Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang about AI making kids worse at math and reading. Huang’s reply: “Does it matter?”
Then he said he doesn’t know his own address or phone number. “We’re going to lose some fine intellectual dexterity.” www.nytimes.com/2026/09/23/o...
The refusal to go after Musk is a serious validator of the notion democrats have no real interest in winning. No serious party would let someone like him emerge as a major funder of the opposition and just… not say anything about it.
Not sure if they're cowards who don't want to take him on or if they're complicit in taking money from him and people like him, but it's staggering.
Standing up to Elon Musk should be an easy layup for any Democrat.
