The most important question with this bullshit is why do cops need a fucking basketball court?

Chris Sommerfeldt@c-sommerfeldt.bsky.social

New: Mayor Zohran Mamdani and a group of his friends have been secretly using the NYPD Police Academy’s gymnasium in Queens to play pickup basketball — scrambling some operations at the facility. w/ @grahamrayman.bsky.social & Joe Anuta www.politico.com/news/2026/10...

This is quite charming.

i am on a plane sitting next to a lady who looks 40ish and has informed me that this is her first time flying she is visibly excited. she asked the flight attendant how much a soda costs and was happy to learn that drinks are free on airplanes. she's taking lots of pictures. i love this for her

Correct. You're not going believe it. And at no point in the piece do they say "not related"

I started to write a nuanced skeet about why we shouldn't care about this, and then I figured fuck it, I don't give a rats ass. I hope they get their shit wrecked.

Look at this fucking idiot.

Sen. Adam Schiff@schiff.senate.gov

I am in strong agreement with the President. Congress should immediately take up and pass a federal film tax incentive to bring back these good-paying jobs that we've lost to other countries.

Yet another example in the seemingly unending line of reporters with large accounts on here who don't do alt text. And it's even worse when it's Twitter garbage being posted.

By UNANIMOUS consent, the Senate adjourned for recess until Monday, September 14 without passing the SAVE America Act. Nobody objected to the request, or asked for a roll call vote.

Politicians just can't help it. I'm not saying they have to celebrate somebody's death, but kissing Lindsey Graham's dead ass is a step too far. Saying nothing would've been best.

Senator Andy Kim@kim.senate.gov

I’m saddened by the news of Senator Graham’s passing this morning. It comes as a real shock. I’m grateful I had the chance to work with Lindsey, including several international trips working on foreign policy. 1/2

As far as I can tell there’s still a thunderstorm expected to happen in the next couple of hours in Washington DC but Trump has decided that he must give his speech and so has told them to reopen the grounds so people can be outside in a thunderstorm during his speech.

This is so utterly fucking stupid. Basically we have a monarchy except when the king tries to fuck with the money, then the bankers get to say no. Unprincipled garbage by a bunch of robed imbeciles

Steve Vladeck@stevevladeck.bsky.social

Last two #SCOTUS rulings are Slaughter and Cook, both by Chief Justice Roberts. As expected, Court sides *with* Trump (the usual 6-3 majority) in Slaughter: www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/25p... 5-4 majority (with Kavanaugh and the Chief joining the Dems) rules *against* Trump in Cook:

Venezuela quake: The most useful thing to give after a major catastrophe is cash. But it can be tricky figuring out where to send the cash where it’ll have the biggest impact. Local charities with known track records & connections work best, but… they’re the ones also struggling in the aftermath.

If you feel you need to go to Boot Camp to learn how to "pick up women" you have much larger problems going on, and you should probably go talk to a therapist about them.

CNN@cnn.com

If you live in a major American city, scenes like this are probably happening near you. Intensive "boot camps," teaching men how to talk to and pick up women, are taking place across the country as people grapple to recover a lost art: face-to-face conversation. https://cnn.it/3QETCli

It's pretty simple. Voters have spoken. Either establishment dems perform, or their shit gets kicked to the curb. 🤷‍♂️

I stand with every bit of this thread.

Look I went to the Democratic caucus in Pueblo, Colorado this year--a party faithful event that is so arcane that people don't even know it happens and exists. These ARE the people who knock doors. These are the volunteers. Anyway, so many of them were upset with the Democratic Party.

tired of the "#1 dad" nonsense. if you're a dad, stop treating it like a joke and post your actual national dad ranking. i'm # 492,018, which is actually really high up there, but more importantly it lets me enter ranked dad lobbies where i can get matched up for fistfights with dads of my caliber

My dad is deader than a door nail and has been for 31 years. He was an excellent dad who had a Masters degree in horse trading anything and everything. My scavenger gene is from his side of the family. I'm also a dad, with two daughters who have made me the happiest father on the planet.

Dad roll call: please state if your dad is alive, dead, a good dad or a bad dad, or if you yourself are a dad

Goddamnit I forgot. Alt text: a brown cake shaped like the Rosetta Stone with ancient writing writing, sitting on a white plate on the corner of a black table. A honey colored hardwood floor in the background.
