A new survey of 1,000 American adults found that the strongest supporters of transgender sports bans are not the people who admire women most: they are the people who hold the most hostile views about women. www.helenwebberley.com/news/transge...

I’m not a political journalist, so was gladly surprised at the community I found here last night. To Americans anxious about the upcoming elections, a key thing we learned in Brazil that might help you: DO NOT engage with the far-right online. Don’t share rage bait. Amplify your people. Ignore them.

transphobia is for imbeciles. you should be so lucky to have the integrity to change what's not you about yourself. you should be so lucky to have that kind of courage and battle for your existence every fucking day of your life. transphobes are stupid

I will work from home, maybe see my wife after work, look for more work, check the mailbox for music I ordered months ago and forgot about, and attend to my true boss (the cat). I will both wish I could go be social w a friend and lament my lack of energy to do so.

You ever remember an old Internet friend who disappeared every time you play a certain song or band and wonder how they are? Anyway listening to Jazz Butcher’s Girl Go, hope Nancy is well.

I mean this sincerely with all the love in my heart for you. I in no way diminish the revulsion you may feel hitting that button with that name on it. But the generation of my grandparents taught us that you feel the disgust and hit it anyway. It’s not a sacred bond. It’s a tool for survival.

Going through old notes today, I was reminded that the NY Times' Peter Baker wrote in January that Trump had "changed the definition of normal." It helps us understand NYT's shortcomings when we realize it accepts the idea that Trump gets to decide what's normal.

You don’t have to support or defend someone to press their name in the voting booth. The button counts as “against Trump.” The name on it is marketing.

The time to influence and shape your side is NOT the general election. No one’s withheld protest vote in 2024 taught Harris or other dems ANYTHING.

You hate the Dems? Great, BECOME the Dems! Run local, organize, fight like hell in primaries. None of those things are easier under a Congress of Republicans. “There’s no difference it’s just capitalism in different masks” is reductive meaningless social media sloganeering. pithy doesn’t = truth

Former presidents are just roasting the hell out of the White House redo today and it’s going to drive Trump absolutely insane

Listening to Jim Steinman’s solo album for the first time (bought it cheap ages ago and forgot about it) and wow, this vibe really needs a Meatloaf voice to sell it.

You know how a cat watching a tv might bat to get at the birds on the screen? That’s us. Only we never figure it out and get bored. They are in power because the screen says so.

Is it just my algorithm or is everything gender?
