Timeline cleanse. You'll be a lot happier if you just watch some puppies.

Minna Ålander 🌻@alanderminna.bsky.social

One of the reasons why Finland is the happiest country in the world is that the public broadcaster Yle sends a live feed of the first 8 weeks of a pack of puppies every fall. It’s already the fifth edition of ”Finland’s most therapeutic live feed”. This is what I call value for my tax money

Cool, cool, cool. Any chance you could share these clear objectives with everyone else?

Q: Why are we helping Israel prosecute this war if they're going to pursue their own objectives? HEGSETH: We hold the cards. We have objectives. Those objectives are clear. We have allies pursuing objectives as well.

If you listen to what he's saying (Minnesota has paid the providers, the federal government just won't reimburse it), they're basically trying to bankrupt the State of Minnesota ... over ICE.

The UAE secretly paid Trump $187 million. Money in his pocket personally. And then Trump overrode decades of national security objections to selling Nvidia chips to UAE because we feared UAE would send the chips to China. Corruption has consequences.

It astounds me how deeply, profoundly stupid these people are. Especially when it comes to our history--this isn't even minutiae.

I can't wait until Ellison gets this smacked down in court.

This is deeply illegal, breaking the Medicaid statute and the ICA. States are entitled to funding from federal govt to help pay for Medicaid. Providing less than the statute calls for is open and shut illegal, more akin to the impoundments Nixon lost unilaterally before SCOTUS than anything so far.

BREAKING on MS NOW: The FBI has fired at least 7 FBI agents and support staff as a result of their role in Trump's classified documents. The people fired are said to have participated in some way in pulling phone records of Patel and Susie Wiles during that investigation.

To put it another way: Courageous jurists on the lower courts have held back Trump from inflicting even more damage on civil rights and liberties. This timeline sucks, but the one in which the judiciary doesn't even try to push back is FAR worse. We insult these judges when we dismiss their impact.

Chris Geidner@chrisgeidner.bsky.social

I’m done with this shit. This isn’t a game. And if you don’t realize that the work of Judges Xinis and Boasberg and Ellis has been an essential part of forcing this administration to account for its actions, you’re not a serious person.

Bovino is just the patsy - a noxious and odious fall guy. Stephen Miller is the architect and prime mover of the whole thing. Everything they do is at his direction - often after his threats. As long as he runs policy in the WH, nothing will change no matter how many Bovinos come and go.

So simply naming someone is doxxing, but taking photos and license plate numbers to create a database of the opposition for government stalking and harassment purposes is not? Naming someone is not doxxing them, and moving them to another city to kill more is conspiracy against rights.

This isn't about "training issues." The murderer who executed Renee Good has been with ICE for 10 years, and according to DHS, the murderer who executed Alex Pretti has been there for 8 years. These aren't "new recruits," or officers that can be "retrained." ICE can't be reformed. Abolish ICE.

For the umpteenth time, Brian nails it. House Dem Leadership screwed up big last week. This isn't "I told ya so." There should be some real reflection within the Dem Caucus about the systemic error in judgement that dismissed all efforts aimed at getting them to make the right call last week.

Brian Beutler@brianbeutler.bsky.social

The murder of Alex Pretti might prove to be a political turning point for the GOP. It should be a turning point for Dems, too. For the current leadership, and the consultant-industrial complex, which just fatally endangered the careers of seven members who chose to put morality last.

It’s crazy to think about the crimes we’re going to learn about after this regime ends. We’re already hearing about Watergate level crimes every week. Imagine what will come out after it’s over. We’re going to need a full accounting of all that’s been done in violation of the constitution.
