Corrected Correction! You never want to have to correct a correction, but I followed this post saying I'd missed that Capcom recently said Monster Hunter Rise reached 20 million, making RE2R the third But, no, Capcom announced RER2's 20m, THEN Rise's 20m

The Switch hardware and games will be released in Indonesia on Dec 10 without a regional eShop. It reaffirms the importance of physical media in Nintendo’s business strategy. Note that Pokémon Pokopia is among the launch titles, because Game-Key Cards don’t use the eShop but their own server. 2/

Geez Louise Part II of Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave is exhausting! Sure, it's trimmed down and only focuses on battles but those are LONG battles! I feel like Part II is honestly one or two chapters too long 🤔 I'm considering caving and doing the skip for the other routes instead of replaying it

Everyone keeps asking me how I’m feeling about early voting so far. I’m feeling like nobody *actually* knows anything, and this is the most important midterm of our lives. I’d rather be us than them, but we can’t get comfortable. We can’t get complacent. Go vote like we’re down 3%.

Reading this Famitsu interview Uchikoshi did and it seems that the reason the Crash Keys game was canceled was because *Uchikoshi* wanted to use AI, not the publisher. This snippet is driving me nuts. Makes all the posturing with Hundred Line read extremely shallow.

Corporate profits are at record highs — but revenue from corporate taxes has plummeted thanks to the tax cuts in Trump and Republicans’ big, ugly bill. Meanwhile, workers’ wages are stagnant and their share of the nation’s income is at a record low. Trickle-down economics was always a hoax.

Hey Bluesky👋, I am 3D animator in the film world, but my heart kept pulling me toward a small, very personal game idea. So I started making a game where you draw your own fish -> you feed them, watch them grow & make friends, & maybe one day, one of them turns golden 🐟✨ #TeaseYaGame #Illustration

After 1.5 years of pouring my heart into my very first game, I'm so excited to finally announce that... Drawquarium is coming to Steam on November 13! 🥹 Draw your own fish, bring them to life, and create your little underwater world, even as a live wallpaper! Like+RT = ♥️ #IndieGames #Cozygames

In the last few weeks i've been bombarded with emails from people who have minor tech support problems. ChatGPT is telling them to email me, writing their emails, and compiling "evidence packets" after convincing them they have stumbled on a major story: www.404media.co/chatgpt-keep...

When I see stories about companies like Microsoft offering buyouts to 60,000 employees, all I can think about is how small journalism is as an industry. I think NPR has about 1,000 people. Public media as a whole was around 19,000 before Congress disolved the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

Something I spoke about before was how transphobia is often an expression of misogyny, it gives people who hate women an outlet and sets trans women up as a class of women it's socially okay to be misogynistic towards, while also providing an ideological justification for that misogyny.

A new survey of 1,000 American adults found that the strongest supporters of transgender sports bans are not the people who admire women most: they are the people who hold the most hostile views about women. www.helenwebberley.com/news/transge...

Some folks have really tied themselves into knots with this belief bordering on zealotry that the release of the New Big Game is going to have millions and millions of new people buying current gen consoles next month that they'll twist every single piece of info into that story no matter what.

Black box programs that update every week are not repeatable. Every calculation I do in R, I could do the long way with a pencil on paper. That is not the case with ChatGPT.

Also for what it is worth, it DIDN'T actually label them as illustrative — and the deception was only apparent because I know the data well. That's scary, because if you use AI for everything, you wouldn't know the data well enough to catch its deceptions.

Game-Key Cards give consumers additional rights such as first sale doctrine and property inheritance over bog-standard digital games. Apparently that’s too much for some publishers.

Your posts and insights have been valuable to me because you’ve applied your own skepticism and expertise to a topic—including going to the primary literature—and then have written out your findings clearly while provided me with ways to independently verify your claims...

Thank you, I appreciate your reply, though I disagree with it. First, we are not random people, we are science communicators. It’s our job to know the primary literature, check it for accuracy, and report it clearly. Asking Claude makes you an unverified plot no difference from the average user…

Oh yeah, but there’s a big difference between $300M and $500M. That moves you from needing 4M to over 7M to break even (using back of the napkin math). Gears is what, a 3-5M (at best) selling series, one that has been relatively cold since the original trilogy.
