I don’t think people around the world realize how bad the attack on Lebanon was today. It’s BAD. Like 9/11 BAD. Hospitals are overflowing and do not have enough blood. We still don’t know what the death toll is. This is TERRORISM. Pure and Simple. April 8. Never forget.

In my time I’ve worked for several psychopathic narcissists with temperaments & tempers like Trump. Invariably they have sworn & regarded everyone else around them as inferior. So not surprised the 🍊🤡has shown his real self.

Duncan Weldon@duncanweldon.bsky.social

What can you say about that post? Other than that the President is threatening war crimes and sounds absolutely unhinged?

CAFCA reposted

He's repeatedly insulted our country, our leaders and our military, is pushing up our prices and threatening our national security, yet the self-proclaimed 'patriotic' right-wing press still finds a way to put themselves on his side

Reform UK's poll score is now heading downwards very quickly. Turns out that being really unpleasant, remaining disorganised, having loads of skeletons in their closet, being reliant on a very unpopular leader and hating almost everything the public thinks doesn't work for long. Who knew eh.

I fear Trump has no basic understanding of anything based on principles or honest facts. His world is laced with toadying sycophants from whom he demands absolute fealty. As President/Emperor he is intellectually bereft of any clothing.

Memnon of Rhodes@johngage1.bsky.social

It’s almost as if he went into this war without the slightest understanding of Iran’s history, military, politics, or how they were likely to respond, and now he’s flailing around like a helpless seal, because he doesn’t have a clue on what to do next.

I hold the opposite view in that no proposal for or implementation of Assisted Suicide offers adequate protection against undue coercion or misplaced anxiety. The same is true in the case of the Leadbeater Westminster initiative - far too many vital safeguards dropped, sidelined or ignored.

Very sorry that MSPs have voted down Assisted Dying in Scotland. Sorry for terminally ill people, and sorry that Parliaments are again obstructing the will of the people.

Whether allies like it or not, they’re all affected by Trump’s irresponsible fuckwittery. Do they let him drown in mess of his own making (tempting) but get further harmed themselves? Or do they sigh, roll their eyes, and help out the errant, spoilt brat, purely for their own sakes? 🧵

Reform in chaos over its NHS policy Jon Richards, UNISON: “Nigel Farage is on record saying he’d look at a US-style, insurance-based system for healthcare. “It’s almost a given there’s dissent and confusion inside Reform given they are tying themselves in knots over Iran.”

I’m being pilloried by staunch Labour zombies for pointing out the grave inadequacies of Starmer, citing all his peripheral achievements, none of which have benefited anyone I know. But I DO know the impact of many disbenefits.

13,000 tankers per VLCC to handle sticky crude oil - I really don’t think so!

southpaw@nycsouthpaw.bsky.social

Okay so we have a problem that needs to be solved in days for the global economy not to seize up. What if we gathered the largest tanker truck fleet in the world and sent them all barreling toward a tiny Omani fishing village that’s suddenly the biggest commercial port in the world? Could that work?

5/ And on the Strait of Hormuz, they had NO PLAN. I can't go into more detail about how Iran gums up the Strait, but suffice it say, right now, they don't know how to get it safely back open. Which is unforgiveable, because this part of the disaster was 100% foreseeable.

Not aware there is much ‘green ’ petrol or diesel available, nor can 20m properties switch from ICE gas. 😡

Massive humiliation for Farage, who tipped off the UK press that he was flying to Florida to have dinner with Trump... only for Trump to decide he had more interesting things to do when Nigel arrived.

Not only did the US, per its own ‘intelligence,’ bomb this girls primary school, THEY BOMBED IT TWICE. www.reutersconnect.com/item/the-pri...

Reporter: Did the US bomb an elementary school and kill 175 people? Trump: Based on what I’ve seen, it was done by Iran. Reporter: Is that true Mr. Hegseth? Hegseth: We’re investigating. Trump: They are very inaccurate with their munitions. It was done by Iran.

This case was not about whether phones can ever be seized It was about whether the government followed the law when doing so Which the Tories didn't 🤷‍♀️ So what was the Sun's FOI about? 8/

As journalists working today many of us are taught to recognise disinformation when we see it and fight back against it. Unfortunately there are some who willingly seek it out and put it on their front pages. A disgrace to the profession.

Labour politicians from Starmer upwards have been making rash statements for more than 2 years, resulting in a flock of chickens coming home to roost. We now know this Prime Minister talks big but walks small.

Jessica Elgot@jessicaelgot.bsky.social

The Green victory in Denton is the result which will have the biggest effect on Labour, far more so than a Reform win. The blithe assumption progressives have nowhere else to go has been proved catastrophically wrong. Can’t help thinking of this quote from a Labour minister, a year ago…

Remarkable the media frenzy around the police searches of Andrew M-W’s properties as if plod is suddenly going to present to camera an incriminating piece of evidence. I for one don’t give a fig about the tawdry cluster round this abomination.

Feels like we are going to watch the Tory-fication of Reform over the next couple of years as an effort to reassure middle England voters, especially working people. But will lead to some inevitable tensions...

Starmer/Reeves remain in a puddle of egotistical complacency! Cost of living mounts unceasingly, services are shambolic & pledges/commitments a heap of failure. 🤬🤬🤬🤬

Getting really tired of "this is all a media concoction"... Starmer has the lowest approval rating of any PM in history bar Truss. Senior ministers are openly and unsubtly positioning. His Chief of Staff, Director of Comms and Cab Sec have all resigned on the same day. I mean come on...

If we are to believe from yesterday that Starmer has emerged stronger to me the question is why there have been two resignations with a third in the offing if has only been turmoil created by the press/media. Starmer’s multiple pledges, blunders & u-turns render him unsuited as PM but there is no
