My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

Ramaswamy's campaign has not only taken responsibility for the ad- they're doubling down and actually running it? I really thought they were going to try to weasel out of it and say it was an internal thing and blame the leaker for the controversy.

“Muscular Christianity” means that when when you’re glazing the serial predator president who deports refugee children, executes fishermen, and builds idols to himself, you TYPE REALLY HARD.

Does anyone ever use an address at, say, the European Council to repeat domestic partisan attacks on the Mayor of Brussels? That would be weird, right?

But seriously so many people cultivate an audience off being harsh and judgmental and stirring up online dogpiles and then go shocked Pikachu face when people are harsh and judgmental to them. Tale as old as time. Song as old as rhyme.

How often has someone as unwell as Graham Linehan been able to publish delusional screeds in major periodical? He is allowed space in the Telegraph to literally list out people he believes have personally wronged him. It's not even punditry.

Days of Thunder is no Top Gun, either in initial box office performance or cultural memory. I had to google the name of Tom Cruise's character. Mostly I remember it being a stylistically distinctive Tony Scott outing. W/i him, Kidman, or Duvall, what is it? Why not just a make a new racing movie?

Dolly broke me in early to her raucous self deprecating sense of humor when we began steel magnolias rehearsals i asked her - how long does it take to do a hair do like yours? Dolly - no idea, i’m never there when they do it! i started taking Dolly-isms notes on the back of my script after that

Dean Martin was a series regular on a mid-80s show? Did he take the gig to keep his SAG insurance?

HALF NELSON was a 1985 Joe Pesci TV series that was cancelled after 9 episodes, but its intro seems to last forever via an escalating cavalcade of absurd cast reveals, underscored by a theme song that feels like a gag gift when you can't license "I Love L.A."...

it's so darkly funny these dipshits keep waving around communications, from Andersen, Collins, Fauci, and others, saying "this could be a lab leak and we have to look into that seriously" as evidence they irresponsibility dismissed a lab leak and didn't take it seriously

Has anyone else run into the issue of people being surprised that you read the template email they sent you and believed the contents to be accurate? Honestly, at this point, maybe I should be relieved that the offending message is so old and dusty that no LLMs can be blamed.

I feel like we're not talking enough about the possibility of a Sox-Cubs World Series, now that both teams are winning at the same time. They're both long shots this season, but if they remain simultaneously competitive for a few seasons, who knows?

Humphrey's Executor is dead and the president can fire anyone in the executive branch at will but NOT Federal Reserve governors is really a parody of the difference between the money power and everything else in America

When you think about it, the Rhys heroine was often a "Girl Who Is Going to Be Okay."

She sat with her chin on her hand, a glass of black coffee before her, and felt a faint stirring of hope.

These people are afraid of every low income neighborhood in the country, but they think they would be safe in this scenario?
