The central argument in my book is that trump is using contrived emergencies in an effort to claim the kind of unlimited power asserted by 17th century British monarchs. The Iran War is one example of this.

Will anyone—anyone at all—ask Trump about the rape allegations published in an official report by the House Judiciary Democrats? Or will he continue to escape accountability for his violence?

A serial rapist was elected twice as President, a fact we don't reckon with nearly enough. Now one of two major political parties has been molded in his image, run for and by violent sexual abusers who hate women.

Eerily similar to what Great Gatsby villain Tom Buchanan says in novel published in 1920s. Buchanan says something like-we Nordics do all the things that make society go-art, literature, science. He's reading a book called The Rise of the Colored Empires & warns about white race being submerged1/2

Nick Carraway, narrator in Great Gatsby, wonders what made Tom Buchanan nibble at stale ideas--again, this is in the 1920s. Robert Kennedy jr. is greedily chomping on these very same stale ideas 100 years later in a cabinet position he has no business occupying 2/2

This report is genuinely overwhelming, in terms of the evidence both against Trump and of a ham-fisted cover-up. Including one instance in which Ghislaine Maxwell was actually about to mention one of Trump's young accusers and Todd Blanche told her to stop talking. The media response is "yawn."

This bigotry reminds me of the ugly slurs directed at candidate and then President Obama. trump's immediate antecedents in the Republican party told us that Obama is not a real American-and trump, of course, helped spread the disgusting "birther" lie about Obama. Enough of this garbage.

I sometimes think of Trump as a Moral Alien. A garden variety sociopath usually at least grasps, however roughly and abstractly, how someone with a minimal sense of empathy or conscience thinks, if only because it's often tactically necessary to fake it. Trump has lost contact with even that.
