The funniest outcome would be that some over his head ICE grunt decided to arrest him the moment he steps down of the plane.

Eu acho lindo que o Flávio fugiu para os EUA só para ver o Trump ter uma derrota histórica em uma semana. Sujeito gosta apaixonadamente de assistir derrotas eleitorais.

The full team was like 1000 people. People outside of the “core team” did some major heavy lifting. This is outsourcing. What you are doing is outsourcing and then downgrading their contributions. There is nothing innovative about this.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer was made by a core team of 75 people. "What we wanted to do was keep that core small, smaller than perhaps you might have done in the past, and scale capacity and capability with what we call distributed development." https://bit.ly/4hT02qg

do think there's a danger of looking at extremely cool shit like a car driving upside down then doing a kickflip before landing, and convincing yourself it's actually lame because the guy funding it is a white supremacist

I reanalyzed the CDC data behind the LGB “free fall” headline. It rests on a change in bisexual identification among one grade, in one wave, of one survey. Gay or lesbian identification did not change significantly. Calling it a "free fall" is sensational and just gives bad actors talking points.

The Washington Post@washingtonpost.com

Young teenagers are less likely to identify as lesbian, gay or bisexual than a few years ago, according to a new analysis. “It really does look like a free fall,” Jean Twenge, a professor of psychology, said. “But what’s causing it is unclear.”

the praiseworthy thing here is the work done in order to bring about the environment in which the rainbow capitalists feel comfortable hoisting their pride flags. praising the capitalists themselves is pointless, they will take those flags back down for a dollar

Earlier this week, I agreed to interviews with two USA Today journalists. They wrote fantastic articles about the Cornell case that I'm proud to have been a part of. What I did not know is that their employer considers interviews to proprietary and opens up recordings to be used by any journalist.

I found weird that this post blow out but looking inside turn out that some ANn accounts decided that dunk on the OP was the cool thing to do.

This "fucking weebs" genre of elitism is so silly. Why should the English version of titles be the standard? Why should MAL use the English names for anime by default? He doesn't even provide a good reason for this stance.

Fitting for it's lack of relevance that Friday Night Lights is kinda forgotten in the discourse even when it's in a totally unfit 14 position.

True, DVD's are great tech but it also suffers from disc rot. Last year Warner offered to replace some items that were produced around 18 years ago for suffering disc rot. So better check up your collection.

BlueSky saying "well I've never heard of this person" like it means something. Last week you were all telling me you'd never heard an Ed Sheeran song. At some point you have to stop and ask yourselves if the real problem is that you haven't been in touch with new music since 2013.

There is a say about language learning: "use it or lose it", I guess it applies to other parts of the cognition.

In a study of doctors in Poland, using an AI for three months, then ceasing to use it, resulted in a 20% loss of skill and accuracy. Cognitive systems are metabolically expensive. When your brain knows there's a substitute, it resents not having access to it.

Looking closer he is not really into the youngest crowd but even if he is probably in the media, he looks closer to the 80 yo group than someone with the age of Spike Lee.

The most charitable thing I can say about Snyder is that he is very hyper competent in a narrow camp that is producing images and nothing else. That is why he doesn't understand subtext and why he is very ideologically confuses.

But also like he has been very privileged, the normal reaction when you are in the wilderness and got COVID is not keep directing with a fever and endangering the rest of the crew. Only someone that doesn't need to think about others does that.

Almost 24 years since Mike Webster passing and 20 after the NFL lost its legal battle with his state, was plenty of time for the League to change the game enough to make it less dangerous. Instead, the current zeitgeist around fans is the modern game is too soft and players should endure more abuse.

A new study shows an alarming rate of CTE among former NFL players: At least 1 in 4 who died from 2016 to 2021 had the degenerative brain disease. And the rate might be even higher. Read more: nyti.ms/4ggtNSx

STOP! You must be SUPER-ONLINE to proceed! #EventsDearBoy 1. FINAL CRISIS (2008, DC) Final Crisis is my favourite event. There are many excellent reasons for saying it isn't the *best*, but it's the one that most fulfils the promise of my first, Secret Wars: an epic story only an event could tell

“There are no sex scenes, and all the food looks horrible” it's such a hard line to drop as a critique, that I will simply applaud uncritical Wilson's essay.

‘Nolan has read at least the first line of my translation of 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘖𝘥𝘺𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘺 into iambic pentameter. In one interview, he cited my version of it: “Tell me about a complicated man.” But I would be ashamed to have written any part of this script.’ New, by Emily Wilson www.lrb.co.uk/the-paper/v4...

Probably an event/shift status quo that would hold incredible well in a modern context, but for a teenage me reading the main Batman title and other tie-ins was an unbearable slog. To the point that stopped reading DC comics for a while. lol

#EventsDearBoy 12. NO MAN'S LAND (1999, DC) *Tammy Wynette voice* "All bound for No Man's Land..." - this Bat-monster gets the award for the highest placing of anything I hadn't read at all before. It just seemed too huge: the year-long central plank in a saga of catastrophe and rebuilding

Probably would have stopped reading comics altogether if it weren't for the fact that 'The Authority' started around half of the story. I must say that I was really into the mood of different type of comics.

But I said that in defense of the storyline it gave us Rucka's time in Batman and his collaboration with Brubaker in Gotham Central some years later, probably one of the best comics from DC.
