AI, you flatter me 😀 “The blend of serious critiques and light-hearted banter creates a unique voice that invites followers to engage with both the weighty and whimsical aspects of modern society. Expect to see a mix of insightful commentary and playful musings, often infused with sarcasm and wit.”

This meme really shits me. This is not how you measure data centres because they come in all shapes and sizes. Data centres aren’t only about AI. The US has many smaller, older data centres. And the US is home to the vast majority of internet services that serve the entire planet. So much dumb. 1/2

In the fictitious universe envisioned here in which most people don't "keep their job", they didn't account for the fact that if nobody makes any money, nobody can buy anything, so the entire system collapses.

Scene: Hospital waiting room Woman who spent 20 years in solitary confinement for NOT murdering her four children (before being pardoned and convictions quashed) is being screamed at until she is crying by some deadbeat nobody who (I’ll bet) actually HAS a criminal record. Cops dragged her away.

Given the woman’s pardon (I see no reason to trot her name out here) came after a petition from 100 medical experts supporting ‘natural causes’, I imagine rescheduling the screaming deadbeat’s now-missed hospital appointment will be a matter of zero urgency. 👏 There’s no vaccine for karma.

Does she realise that "expensive schools don't have a substantive impact on the actions of students" is a cogent argument AGAINST the existence of private schools?

“Mr Dann KC said his client, convicted rapist Ralph Carr, had a history of PTSD, anxiety, depression and previous suicide attempts.” “He said a jail term would … have a significant adverse impact on his mental wellbeing.” And? I’m failing to see why anybody should care about HIS wellbeing now.

“After last month's verdict, Ralph Carr repeatedly bashed his head into a wall, his blood pressure soared, he experienced panic attacks and had trouble sleeping.” Diddums! It’s terrible when something happens that impacts you for the rest of your life, isn’t it? Shoulda thought about that earlier.

“He described being kept in his protective custody cell for 23 hours a day as ‘a living hell’ and believed his career had been destroyed by negative publicity.” That’s not “a living hell,” you entitled prick. Your victim wanted to be left alone and you refused. Your career has ended by your actions

I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful

It’s the 56th anniversary of the first day of a legendary rock festival. Sly & The Family Stone, Fleetwood Mac, James Taylor, and Janis Joplin were booked, but an injunction by locals meant none of the artists turned up. So tens of thousands of people turned up and took a shitload of drugs anyway 🧵
