🚲🚶♂️ Our CEO Tom Fyans down at the new pedestrianised Oxford Street this morning... 👍 We're all in favour of this move, but where are our safe alternate cycle routes?! 👨💻 Send an email to Westminster Council to ask them to start work on new safe cycle routes near Oxford Street: buff.ly/Fhm8R18

There has to be proper parallel route for cycling without having to dodge the beemers driven at speed, ASLs properly enforced, ban illegal car parking in Wigmore St. Plus #begbuttons for those traversing by motor rather than for those walking on the main drag. And open to cycling 20.00 to 07.00

Why do drivers always act so surprised when caught? Is it because they know they are doing wrong, and simply think there aren't enough police to catch them? youtu.be/gUgkykHy5HU

This video camera study showed that less than 5% of people on bikes broke traffic laws while riding bikes, yet 66% of people did so while driving. And perhaps even more importantly, if you REALLY want even MORE bike-riders to obey laws, build more protected bike infrastructure. Via @carltonreid.com

So it is just to line the pockets of the fossil fuel corporations then. Well now we know who labour cares about and it isn't you and me.
On going ahead with Jackdaw: Sally Nugent: "For people who are going to be struggling to pay their energy bills this winter, what difference will this make?" Energy secretary: "its really important to be clear that this project does not have an impact on affordability & bills"

‘It’s the best feeling’: how Copenhagen gave cyclists a green wave. “Traffic lights are synchronised so a rush-hour cyclist at 20km/h can catch green lights all the way.” If you want people to choose not to drive, make the non-driving trip better & easier for them. It’s as simple as that, really.

Hey @ldntravelwatch.bsky.social, two questions: 1) Can you publish your actual tangible alternative designs? 2) What is your optimum number of dead cyclists? We need @london.gov.uk and @willnorman.co.uk to take them to one side for a chat

UK's dysfunctional power grid. Yesterday Scotland had over capacity. Rather than provide free energy in Scotland, the turbines were switched off, then gas turbines switch on in the South of England. Then EVERYONE in Scotland pays for electricity like it's gas. www.theguardian.com/business/202...

Those of us sensitive to the damage misleading terms can cause would appreciate it if you described these as 'Electric motorbikes' Scott. E-BIkes are as we know legal, safe and an incredible game changer re urban transport. Every one one of your committee's problems comes from Electric motorbikes.

And yet here we are in Islington rowing back on promises to put LTNs in the whole Borough. What a shameful lack of ambition in the face of all the evidence. I would tag LBI but they aren't here, preferring The Other Place. Says it all.
